Yes!! Ever since her "start" in Smallville with Checkmate, the Wall has not been an easy role to play. Ok, the JLU was a better fit. But Ross, you nailed the personality involved. I would like to see this scene again, with Dr Strange doing his magic and being tempted on where to send her.
How about Amanda Waller and Section 31 (Star Trek) (maybe including Phillipa Georgiou (alternate), former empress of the Terran Empire).
Howz bout Amanda Waller with Doc Strange trying to recruit Doc Manhattan? She'd be bringing a water pistol to a gunfight.
Luke in an Avengers movie could be worthwhile.
Personally, I think the Wall who killed her "loose-end" subordinates, in the first SS flick, to be perfectly in character with the one who got tongue-lashed by the comic book Pres. Bush (for trying to be a bigger puppet-master than Kobra, himself) at the end of "The Janus Imperative" story arc.

I love the Suicide Squad. Mostly when the comic first came out in the 80's. I liked the movie, too. But I wished they had found an actress that had fit the original body type of Amanda Waller. There aren't any other short, fat women in comics. I believe Amanda Waller was the first, and she was a main character as well. I also don't think the movie did the Waller character correctly. I don't believe the early comic version of Waller would have just coldly mowed down her staff just because she didn't want to go to the effort of getting them out to safety with her.
I also wish Will Smith was coming back to play Deadpool. I know Smith did not play the Deadpool character like the comics, but he made the character his own, and I liked it.

I, on the other hand, think Amanda Waller was appropriately vilified in the first "Suicided Squad" movie. An all-too-plausible case of becoming a worse monster than the ones she's in charge of fighting!
The status of how much of a "reboot" the new film will be has changed over the months since James Gunn took up the project; the most recent explanation, as I understood it, was that it will be done in a way that doesn't erase the first film, but just moves forward in a better general direction, including a more tongue-in-cheek attitude.
@Last Anon: I think you mean Deadshot. (Deadpool is Ryan Reynolds.) But I agree about how well Will Smith did in the role, and Mr. Gunn made the correct choice in changing his mind about re-casting the role. The issue with Will was a scheduling conflict, and we can hope he'll be back for the third installment (if there is one).

@Bob Greenwade: Aquaman's deity-of-choice forbid!
I find that after Man of Steel, BvS, Suicide Squad and the rest of the recent benighted DC movies, I have zero curiosity about them. I've enjoyed Wonder Woman and Shazam and to a lesser extent Aquaman and Wonder Woman's appearances in the other movies. If the occasional good movie escapes from them, then I'll go see it, but I have pretty near zero expectations or interest—WW'84 being the only current exception.
On the other hand, I have been enjoying the Arrowverse and Smallville before that. Gotham, less so, but more than most of their recent movies.
Amanda/Pam Grier has been working Hallmark movies. If she can do that she should be able to reprise The Wall for movie or tv. Funny how sometimes the CW spends the time and cash to do a job right - even better than their big screen counterparts.
@Jim Burrows: GOTHAM was a Fox Network drama. But, it still had the best live-action "televersion" of Batman since Adam West.
I always thought that Patricia Belcher from Bones would have made a good Amanda Waller.
If she wasn't already committed to NCIS: NOLA, I'd nominate CCH Pounder for permanent Wall-hood.
