Would Arthur always travel with sea creatures staying nearby as a safety precaution?
If not, he might be in a spot of trouble.
I know they're both DC, but if the Wonder Woman from Flashpoint came to Arthur's Earth, how would they interact?
Who would win in a fight: Doomsday vs Parasite?
Has anybody else here noticed that when STF features [one or more] heroes from one company against [one of more] villains from another company, rather than heroes from 2+ companies or villains from 2+ companies, situations with DC heroes against Marvel villains -- like today's cover -- are about twice as frequent as ones with Marvel heroes against DC villains?
Do you think that this says anything about those companies?
This has me thinking this could be the beginning of at least a 2 parter; since Aquaman in seriously outnumbered, I can see getting some backup; basically a number of other water based heroes; Tempest, Dolphin, Mera, Neptune Perkins, Tsunami, Stingray, Namor, Triton, Mariana, Namoria, Abe Sabian. Now this would be a true JLA, Justice League of Atlantis, and yes I loved the JL? mini series
I wasn't thrilled bt Atlantis Attacks. They started these a year earlier with Evolutionarry Wars which was... okay and went downword from there
I have fond memories of that, as well. The underlying plot device being the mystic re-energizing of my favorite Marvel McGuffin: the Seven-headed Serpent Crown of Lost Lemuria!
I especially love how you managed to splice in a photo-capture showing Attuma's warriors wearing helmets almost identical to Orm's mask.
Oh, wow! I was still reading comics at that time, and somehow this event sneaked by me so smoothly that this is the first I've heard of it. Now I'm going to have to see if there's a TPB collection.
And here's a thought: "When Atlantis Attacks... Mars Attacks!"
(Though I'm still hoping to one day see Aquaman meet Cecil the Sea-Sick Sea Serpent, as I admittedly did suggest just a couple of days ago.)
@Simreeve: I think it means that, on the whole, DC has cooler heroes, but Marvel has cooler villains. There's still plenty to be had the other way around, though, like Dr. Doom (in heroic mode) vs. Doomsday, or Dr. Strange vs. Trigon. Or, for something totally counter-intuitive, the Hulk vs. the Riddler.
Bob Greenwade echoes my sentiment, exactly.
I, too, have felt that DC has way-cooler superheroes than Marvel (with the obvious exceptions of Spidey, Wolverine, and Capt. America, of course). While Marvel has much cooler super-villains (with obvious exceptions like the Joker and Luthor, of course).
@B.G. great idea. Mars Attacks Atlantis to get rid of the competition. No heroes around. Atlantis gets help from monsters - oh Godzilla!(and more)
So much for insurance.
