Green Goblin Vs. The Atom

Another season of DC's Legends of  Tomorrow is about to conclude, and once again we have barely seen Ray Palmer in costume, let alone use his shrinking powers.  If they just wanted a goofy guy to run around on adventures with the team, they should have used Snapper Carr or something.  It's a frustrating show that teases fans with characters they love, only to have them completely under-utilized.

Legends of Tomorrow is horrible. It's silly but not funny. The characters are not interesting and always forget they have powers. The time travel stories are never interesting either.

I admit to loving LoT, but yes we joke around here about the lack of superpowers used in a superhero show.

This looks to me as though it could be part of the same story as yesterday's cover.

I like Legends of Tomorrow, but it could be better. We see the heroes in Supergirl, Flash, and Arrow using their powers. The characters on Legends of Tomorrow should be depicted in the same way.

I like this paring, and I agree with Simreeve that this could be an ongoing plot from yesterday. Thank you for all the great covers, Ross.

Well, I was half-right. The Atom got kidnapped. Gobby must've wanted to use him as bait in order to get revenge for STF #1405.

I have to agree with you, Ross. I love LoT, but it's been disappointingly light on real superhero scenes. The new regulars, Constantine and Charlie, have (it seems) each used their powers this season than all of the others combined. (Mona only got her powers mid-season, so she doesn't count.) Even Sara hasn't gone serious ninja on anyone's face, except in her guest appearance on Arrow, and that doesn't require much in the way of VFX. The stories have been quirky enough and have had plenty heart behind them, but dang it, I want to see some good superhero action too!

LoT seems to be spending its money this year on location shooting rather than CGI super-fights. Also, Ray (who obviously has been hit on the head too many times) is the only actual super-hero (in their pre-LoT life) left on the team. The emphasis on magic threats and the Time Bureau also limits the need for costumes and powers. John and the shapeshifter (I have bothered to learn her name) seem to get the only powered action, and that's just script and camera tricks.

I also think the writers were told to try for a Deadpool vibe, but are stuck with having to be PG.

Electro vs. Air-Wave (or, as he was called at one stage, 'Maser')?

Have to agree, it seems like a great story arc.. Gobby going after the scientists & their accomplishments. Next on his list could be Lex & Tony Stark.

As to Legends, it seems like new people in charge want to do the series their own way..this got them the highway. It didn't make 22 episodes this season. How much did the ratings drop? Was last year's Legion of Doom the breaking point for the powers that be? You can't go much more than the 180 degrees that the unicorn, fairy godmother, musical love god & puppet episodes did. I DARE the Powers to use ANY of those characters on Arrow. ( poor John Diggle then. )

I agree that legend of tomorrow sucks on the last episode they got stuck in ice but heatwave didn't try to use his heat gun to free them that shows how dumb the characters are

I think the Legends need to visit the original timeline of The Flash before Reverse Flash went back and killed Barry's mother. Somehow Barry still became The Flash but wouldn't have been raised with The Wests.

@Irwin: Rory offered, but Sara nixed the idea because the fire would use up all their oxygen. (Fire does kind of tend to do that, in an enclosed space.)

@bob & Ira: That wasn't the episode entitled "Up In Smoak." Was it?

It is all about the budget. How often have we seen Commander Steel turn. Plus the got rid of Firestorm. So in essence they greatly reduced their special effects budget.
