The Badger and Spider-Man

The Spider-Man: Far From Home trailer got fans buzzing with Mysterio claiming that he was a hero from another dimension, introducing the multiverse to the MCU.  This is Mysterio, though, so I am not taking anything I saw in that trailer at face value. Who knows if that's even the real Nick Fury in there - could be just an illusion or maybe even The Chameleon in disguise.  I'm expecting a lot of misdirects in the story and I am looking forward to Jake Gyllenhaal's portrayal of the central villain.

Well, if Nick Fury is portrayed as a one-eyed former lifeguard with a talking Corvette, we'll know it's just Mysterio in disguise. ;-)

Seriously, though: I can't believe nobody ever thought to request this combo, before! It's genius!! Now, if only you could get Spidey to meet Araknis (from Mushroom Comics) or even Webwitch, you'd truly make my day.

When I first saw the team-up here, for some reason my brain registered the Badger as the Ferret. Those two might make for an interesting pairing. For that matter, toss in Wolverine and you have a good start at yet another themed team.

I'm expecting Spider-Man: Far From Home to have more curves than an Italian mountain pass. I already (thanks to Fandango) have my ticket for the opening showing here in Corvallis. I'm already fairly certain that Mysterio is lying about being from an alternate Earth given that he identifies the MCU as Earth-616 -- which we know to be not true -- but how that affects the rest of the story is still a mystery (pun not intended).

The Ferret - I think I remember him. But Araknis, Webwitch, Mushroom Comics? New names to me! I used to think that I used some obscure comics, but you guys put me to shame.

Ross, have you seen "Love and Capes" comic?

Mandrake the Magician, Dr. Strange and Dubbilex?

I think it was a web comic out a few years ago.

And Araknis was the alias more-or-less adopted by scientist John Blackwell when he bonded with some kind of extra-dimensional arachnoid to stop the invasion of his Earth by the rest of that thing's kind.

Imagine Spidey crossed with X-O Manowar and you might get the idea.

P.S.---Mushroom Comics is now Morning Star Productions. While Webwitch is a creation of Tim Vigil published by Avatar Press.

Araknis sounds to me like a possible match-up with Venom. What do you think, Cary?

Even better! Thanks, Bob. :-)
