Green Lantern and Jack of Hearts in: "Hidden Homeworld"

So, on Arrow, we have recently learned that John Diggle's father was not such a nice guy, and his step father who helped to raise him and with whom he had been feuding had been covering for John's Father to protect his memory and spare John some pain.  His step father has the last name Stewart.  So how long until John takes his uncle's last name to finally become John Stewart?  After the season finale this week, they will only have next seasons 10 episodes before the series ends... I'm guessing they will wait right until the end.  Will it just be an epilogue moment - or could it lead to a John Stewart Green Lantern show?  Probably too big a budget for the CW, but that would be cool to see!

Jack previously met Green Lantern John Stewart (along with Guy Gardner) in STF #2243 and Hal Jordan in STF #587...

Makes no difference to me. I haven't watched the show since Day One!

Wow! And I thought that was a lost cause, when the comics showed Diggle as his own, separate character. I did like that line from JWS's Barry during Elseworlds, though: "John... Why don't you have your ring?"

The show was quite good at the beginning, but by the 3rd season it became boring and repetitive. I am still enjoying Legends of Tomorrow.

I don't think we'll see Earth-1's Diggle change his name to Stewart, or don the Green Lantern ring. I do, however, think it's likely that we'll see Dig from another Earth, under the name of John Stewart, and wearing the ring... provided Berlanti can convince the DC PTB to let him. I'm pretty sure the Earth-90 Stewart is dead, but there are many other Earths to choose from.

Oh, and a correction: Roy Stewart was Dig's stepfather, not uncle.

Re: today's cover? I have to wonder if the Guardians of Oa were worried about other Contraxians becoming bipedal Sun-eaters.

If those fears are ever realized, the Guardians might wind up sicking Simon and Jessie on him/her/them!

Hint-hint! ;-)

Considering the last ten minutes of the last episode of Arrow had the Monitor back and talking of the multiverse, Diggle might see some changes during next season's Crisis. It would be nice foreshadowing.

And speaking of the multiverse, Sunday's episode on Kara's Earth was something else. I know the CW shows are parallel universes to the comics, but giving Supergirl a repulse beam super vision AND THEN having her able to draw sunlight energy out of the plants in the ground is beyond screwed up! (Oh, they thought it was like taking moisture out of the air and plants? Nope, not at all.)

Didn't Superman do something like that [on a wide scale] in one of Miller's 'Dark Knight" stories, to recover from being nuked?

@Simreeve: Yep! Exactly.

So, there is LEGITIMATE precedent.
