Samurai Jack and Hong Kong Phooey

Samurai Jack is one of the most visually inventive cartoons that I have ever seen, and I thoroughly enjoyed the series.  I think it could make an amazing live action film, given the right director.  I've seen some fan-made trailers and they give a small hint of what could be possible, hopefully Hollywood will take notice of the potential in the property one of these days.

It's sometimes funny, sometimes interesting to see the actors that do these voices react when seeing the finished product for the first time. Phil LaMarr does Green Lantern as well, and his pride in how good the series is considered has been revealed during some great interviews.

I would actually love an OVA of this team- up.

Thirty years ago, Tom Laughlin (of "Billy Jack" fame) would've made a great Samurai Jack. He certainly kicked katana-wielding butt in "Master Gunfighter!" But, the only one who might be able to play SJ in live-action, these days, is Mark Dacascos. Currently co-starring in "John Wick 3" as Ninja Zero!

This, in my opinion, is a Team-Up That Must Actually Happen. Unfortunately, IP rights and such would make that difficult, though Warner has tended to be more open about that than Disney.

@BG: The two of them should publish it as a one-shot graphic novel set on Earth-7642.

Considering how many other Hanna-Barbera Easter Eggs made it into the show, and there actually is a group of anthropomorphic canines in the Aku future, it's not all that unlikely except that the series ended.

On that note, has anyone else seen...or is currently seeing...Season 5? 😃

Anon: That wouldn't work. Earth-7642 is for Marvel and DC characters to interact. HKP is Hanna-Barbera, which like DC is a Warner property but not quite the same. I don't know who owns SJ, but he's definitely not a Marvel character, nor with any other Disney-controlled company.

Maybe Captain Carrot and the Zoo Crew could visit Kamandi's post-apocalyptic Earth and declare themselves that Earth's new anthropomorphic animal superhero team (as Kamandi's world, like Earth-C, is populated by anthropomorphic animals).

@Bob: why not? Time-Warner certainly has no trouble mingling their DC characters with their Mortal Kombat characters.

@Anon (8:52): DC has also mingled their characters with Hanna-Barbera and Loony Toons, and it's probably only a matter of time before Animaniacs joins that set. But who owns the rights to Samurai Jack? A deal could be struck, I think (as I said, Warner plays with others better than Disney), but it'd probably be a bit complicated.

Aren't they both owned by the Cartoon Network?

Yeah! And Cartoon Network is owned by Warner Media. So, no conflict of interest I can see. Not unless Gendy Tartakovsky (who, as original creator, admittedly and technically owns the title character) wants a financial upgrade beyond reason.

SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Don't give him any ideas!

Maybe have the Flintstones and the Rubbles meet the Three Stooges (with the prehistoric couples being former extras in Three Stooges shorts (dressed for the 20th Century, of course) who left the trio for less over-cultured "pastures" because they think the shorts are like something in PBS-British TV comedies).

Or--even better--Mightor meets/versus the Robonic Stooges!
