Sgt. Rock and The Rocketeer (Part One)

Sgt, Rock is among the DC Heroes rumored to be making an appearance in upcoming episodes of DC's Legends of Tomorrow series, which has me intrigued.  I wasn't sure of what I thought of the time travel premise of the show at first, but if it means that we will be able to see DC characters from different eras that are unlikely to show up anywhere else, then I am all for it!  Bring on Scalphunter, The Demon and Brainiac 5!

Make sure you stop by tomorrow for part two of this thrilling tale!

I think Brainiac 5 has a great look for TV and I trust the DC scribes could streamline his back story for viewers new to his history.

Personally, I think Supergirl is a better place to introduce Brainy than Legends of Tomorrow. But then, there's going to be an internetwork Flash/Supergirl teamup soon, so there may be a chance that we could see him on both.

That development could also be a way to use Jonah Hex in a way that was better than the movie (which was OK enough, aside from being not exactly faithful to the character's original story). After all, Jonah has done a bit of time-traveling in his day; this could be how, in the DCCU, he gets into the far-flung future.

And then there's also Kamandi!

(It occurs to me, too, that you could start doing the occasional cover with the Legends' comic personas teaming up with the Doctor, fighting Kang the Conqueror, giving aid to Access, or even trying to deal with a situation in the Kingdom of Id.)

I think Sergeant Rock would be better off being introduced on GOTHAM. Perhaps via a plot device similar to Capt. America's Silver Age origin. For example: he was frozen at war's end by a Nazi cryogenics pioneer named Schimmel (Mr. Freeze's original surname on the Adam West Bat-series)!

And, inspired by the works of Bob Buethe, might I suggest that part 2 include Sarge and the Rocketeer being rescued by...the RADIO CITY ROCKETTES?

I guarantee you I'd get a big kick out of it! ;-)

"DC's Legends of Justice series"? Does Legends of Tomorrow have a different name in your neighborhood? :D

Bob Greenwade - I thought I read that Jonah Hex was already scheduled for LoT.

I'm enjoying the show - Capt Cold chewing the scenery especially.

Sometimes, I think the team-ups that seem based just on similar names are a bit lame in the premise, but you make them work. Rock & Rocketeer worked out nicely.

I remember Sgt. Rock back in the 50's (Before he talked like Sgt. Fury). Speaking of Fury - how about The Howlers and The Haunted Tank?
Or since I'm on a WWII theme - Namor + Torpedo Taylor. And in a totally unrelated teamup FF/Metal Men vs Diablo/Chemo?

How about something videogame-oriented...like the Flash in a foot race with Sonic the Hedgehog?
