Space Ghost and Nexus

I love the artwork of Steve Rude.  He has the ability to combine an old school sensibility with slick modern inking techniques and a cinematic style of storytelling.   His design for Nexus looks like it would fit right in next to Alex Toth's Space Ghost, and I would love to see them share an adventure together.

Y'know even better than the character team-ups are the artist/penciller/inker team-ups! Toth and Rude go good together!

Steve Rude drew an awesome Space Ghost comic one-shot quite a while back ... have you seen it?

Yeah, great stuff!

Thanks for uploading this, Ross. Space Ghost, in his original run (1966-68) really knew how to kick interstellar bad guy-butt. :-)

Great team up. Thanks for this.

Toth and Rude are both clean and spare and they can work together because they both do more with less. But Toth is even more minimal than Rude is. I've always thought that Rude's more direct Silver Age ancestor was Russ Manning. Unfortunately for STF there was already a Magnus/Nexus team-up in the 90's. I suppose there's always Korak/Nexus.

It's nice to see Space Ghost back in these pages -- it's been almost two years! I'd been about to suggest teaming him with Adam Strange, but saw that the pair actually teamed up at about that time (two years ago); but how about the Silver Surfer?

Or maybe the Phantom Stranger... he'd be a good team-up possibility with the Surfer, too.

Great appearance of Nexus, a First Comics legend! Steve Rude loved Space Ghost as well. Excellent match. It's been awhile since you featured First Comics' other great hero, the Badger. Perhaps a team-up of fierce carnivorous mammals is in order? Wolverine might not like being called Larry...

Badger will be appearing very soon...

An acquaintance of mine had the idea of a Wolverine/Badger team-up way back in the mid-80s, so it's a viable thing. But what if we were to add a few others, like the Ferret? Maybe add Timber Wolf, and one or two others, and you have a new ad hoc team!

How about a Jan, Jace, Blip, meet Zan, Jayna and Gleek ... that could make an awesome cover!
