Man-Bat Vs. Man-Thing
This pairing might not provide the most eloquent dialogue, but I'm thinking they would make up for that with action in this story. It is interesting that a lot of the monster-type characters in comics seem to be able to maintain relationships with beautiful women. I guess it says something that you never see the reverse - a female monster in comics that has a handsome boyfriend who sees past their outward appearance.

im shocked man bat hasnt shown up in new 52 yet if he has i havent seen him do you have other pairings planned it would be cool how bout red lanterns vs red hulk or young justice vs young avengers or son of wolverine and hulk vs sons of worlds finest
Wonderful cover for me cuz Manbat was always to treat to see on Brave and the Bold. If Manbat was involved, you knew the story was going to be both creepy and tragic. But Ross, I really would like to see you use some characters from Comico and Eclipse. So let it be written, so let it be done!!!
There are covers featuring characters from both of those companies coming in the future, I promise.
These two characters have "met" before, in a way. Man-Bat and Man-Thing were merged in the mid 1990s in an Amalgam character that got its own title/one-shot: Bat-Thing.
Ross, make a list of the Top Ten covers you wish would be made into stories!!!! Lets have it! Also, Your Top 5 favorites, your Top Five Funniest, and for laughs, your top 5 worst ;o) With over 300 covers, at this point, its time to start making lists!
If you count the B&B and MTIO covers, there are close to 850 covers posted. I can truly say may personal favorites have yet to be posted (I still have well over 400 in the pipeline waiting for their day on the blog). I could list my least favorite covers easily, but why dwell on the negative?
Not to add more work for you, but what do you think of creating an accompanying "Reader's & Ross' favorites" blog, compiling a few top tens from the 850 you've done so far. Heck, anything to distract me from my miserable office work would be much appreciated!
It's hard enough getting traffic for this blog without creating a spinoff! I do get requests for favorites lists from time to time though so maybe once we get to issue #500 or so, I will try to put something together.
Plus, I really have no idea what readers favorites would be. All I have to go by is the comments, and that's a very small fraction of the page's visitors.
This would indeed be an interesting team-up -- dialogue-light, yes, but a lot of story can be done with just pictures and captions. Still, my memory of Man-Bat is that he still spends much time as Kirk Langstrom, so that could give some proper dialogue.
Also on the topic of Man-Bat, I've been thinking for a while that it might be interesting to see him with Morbius, the Living Vampire.
Bob - I already had them meet in issue #203... and they will meet again.
Have you considered making a post here to have people leave a list of their top 5 or 10 in the comments or via email (if you want to keep the picks private), and then create a poll from there using the top vote-getters. I'm sure there are a lot of folks who drop in but don't comment regularly that you might get feedback from.
Just a thought.

It took me a while, but I finally remembered Man-Bat and Morbius (I didn't want to fish through). That was a cool one indeed.
Man-Bat on the Planet of the Apes might be interesting, too.
Regarding those Top 10 Lists: our strategy will just be to wear you down with requests until you cry uncle, Ross!!!!! We can do this the HARD way, or the easy way ;o)
Do it the easy way, Ross. Just Zip-lock him out...forever. ;-)
But, what's Man-Thing doing in the Himalayas? Did it take him three hundred issues to help Chewie and Threepio get back to Dagobah (via Kunlun)?
