This is another cover where the sum of the parts adds up to way more than the individual components you've sourced.
I like the genie-of-the-gun effect here. Really intrigued. What's waiting in Shangri-La?

As usual, the only thought is Why couldn't Ross be working THERE and get these stories done for real!!
There is so much potential for your stories. Has either Vision met the Spectre? The two of them would scare so much of the criminal element. Stay ahead of schedule.
Who’s THIS cover’s Vision?
He was a superhero of Marvel's WWII-era predecessor, Timely Comics. His power set might've been inspired by the Spectre. But, his appearance definitely inspired DC's post-war Martian Manhunter! He could apparently teleport via the Fifth Dimension, using smoke (or any other gaseous matter) as a portal. Which explains his materializing before Wesley Dodds in the middle of a cloud of sleeping gas.
I hope you're not tired of hearing this, Ross. But, my compliments on your ability to masterfully blend such disparate images. :-)
Brief postscript: the Spectre historically debuted in Feb. 1940. The Golden Age Vision's debut came seven months later. The latter's first modern-age appearance, however, was in that 1993 "Invaders" mini-series that also repopularized several public domain Golden Agers as the Battle-Axis.
Golden Age Goodness Ross! I like the theme of the timeless sage recruiting a new acolyte. Yes, this was the original Vision, who could use smoke to travel from his dimension back in the day, before he was revamped into a super android. You know how to bring intriguing characters together, and your skill and patience with Photoshop makes it look great.

@Cary: He could teleport via the Fifth Dimension? Isn't that where Mr. Mxyzptlk is from? I sense potential for a pairing there.
@Ross: It occurs to me that you could make a group of kids: the Troublemakers: Calvin, Dennis the Menace, Peppermint Patty, Hans and Fritz Katzenjammer... Maybe even Teeny from Fibber McGee's short-lived comic.

In Marvel Comics, the Golden Age Vision came from an extra-dimensional realm he called "Smokeworld". In the 1950's, Jack Kirby debuted a monster called "Diablo of the 5th Dimension" who manifested as a giant made of black smoke.* So, I use the term as a generic catch-all for a multiverse with a higher energy frequency (what STAR TREK:TNG would call a "quantum signature") than our 3-D reality.
*Nowadays, it would probably be ret-conned as "dark force."
@Cary: I still think that the Golden Age Vision and Mr. Mxyzptlk would make an interesting pairing.
Or Mr. Mxyzptlk with Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis, Jr.

@Bob & Cary...i believe DC was bold enough to ONCE pair Mxy with Earth-2's Lois Lane's niece. She was used to give Superman a headache he couldn't shake off in the 40s & 50s.
Any chance we`ll ever see a team up with the V comic spin-off that dc published based on the early 80s sf tv show?

I`m actually kind of surprised that we havent seen an Amethyst teams up with Crystar,both of these came out in the same month may 83,both had a gem/crystal theme and both were 12 issue maxi series.
Love the work you`ve been doing,it was the sort of stuff I used to dream about waaay back in the day when I started comic collecting [early 80s]

just once, i would love to see a non-Earth character like this Vision see someone like this Sandman and say, "What happened to your face?"
