We will be seeing a female Silver Surfer in Shalla Bal for the upcoming Fantastic Four movie. Like many, I wonder why they aren't using the Frankie Raye Nova, who became a herald to Galactus in the comics. Yes, I know that Shalla Bal had the power of the Silver Surfer for a handful of pages in the alternate world mini-series Earth X (and then was killed off), but it still seems like an odd choice. Superman had a giant red ant head for an issue once, but I don't expect to see him look like that in the movies after all.
Coming tomorrow: STF #4400!

Wow! What a great pairing. Two of my favorite flame throwing female heroes. Excellent choice!
I guess Marvel Films no longer consider Norrin sufficiently Radd.
I'm genuinely surprised you've never (as yet) teamed up Firehawk and Phoenix.
It does not surprise me. Marvel movies have changed races and sexes of characters to try to appeal to different audiences.
Great, now you've jinxed it... because let's be serious, ant-headed Superman is just the kind of thing James Gunn would totally try! You know it's true!
Hopefully, only as a summer blockbuster crossover. Like, say, the prelude to Superman-meeting-the-Fantastic Four? With Mxyzptlk and the Impossible Man finally (and canonically) being revealed as one-and-the-same!
It'd be nice comedy relief, anyway, if Paul Rudd (as Scott Lang) met a myrmecocephalous Kryptonian (voiced over by Nicholas Cage) while visiting his Smallville cousin Lana.
Good idea teaming up Ant-man and Insect Queen. Glad I thought of it! ;-). Isaac
They have spread the major villains around so much, having Mxyzptlk meet Superman might shake things up a bit. NO LEX or ZOD & co. Or Darkseid ...big, big yes there.
The question will be ...if the next F F #1 movie doesn't work, then what happens??
People i asked said they really like the movies but don't like the comics...too bland and boring. That's IT!! VIDEO COMICS with music, sound and voices....right next to the pre digested box of popcorn. Sell them around the world with different languages.
You're right, Isaac. Credit where credit is due...and thanks long overdue.
Nova, Firehawk, Phoenix, Firebrand... there sure are a lot of hot women in comics. I'd suggest making a team of them, but I think there's already a group of flame-related heroes on this blog... though Fire is the only one the two groups would have in common.
Speaking of whom, it's been a while since we've seen the da Costa cousins together.
@Cary: I hope you got a cookie for that first post.
I remember Firehawk as one of the last superheroes created a few months before the Crisis Infinite Earth's shakeup! She might be the last Bronze Age hero before the 90s era.
A.k.a. the True Bronze Age.
Thanks for the cookie, Bob. :-)
Another 29.5 hours and STF #4400 will be forever relegated to page 2.
*Sob!* :-(
Another thirty-four hours and four minutes and STF #4400 will be forever relegated to page 3. :-(
