Howard the Duck Vs. Godzilla

I've read rumors that the follow up film to Godzilla Vs. Kong will be titled Godzilla and Kong.  That indicates that the two titans will be teaming up against a larger threat.  We've already seen King Ghidora and Mecha-Godzilla, so I am not quite sure who it could be, though.  I wonder what The Cloverfield Monster is up to these days?

*STOMP* the end ;)

Personally, I'd rather see them (G & K, not Bev & Howard!) double-team the Black Dragon from REIGN OF FIRE.

Personally, the next time Godzilla shows up here, I'm hoping it's against the Inferior Five. Or maybe Captain Klutz.

As for who Godzilla and Kong could battle, maybe it's not a single hostile kaiju, but two or three. Rodan and Gamera are possible; add Mothra, and you have a group of defender kaiju to defend the world from alien invasion.

Boffo Ross! Being an alien, Howard easily saw through human scheming and subterfuge in Steve Gerber's original stories. That perspective usually gave him a good view of what was going on behind the scenes, and explained the cockeyed motivations of his adversaries. Big G's latest rampage here could have been provoked by the aliens from 1965's "Invasion of Astro-Monster". They survived somehow, and are plotting revenge against the Earth. Maybe Howard could get Godzooky to intervene, and have a father-son talk to show his old man how they're all being set up. A cameo with Bambi would be a real zinger.

I presume you mean the Disney deer and not one-third of "Candi/Randi/Bambi."

Beverly's reply: "You didn't help matters nicknaming the American version 'Matthew Brodzilla' on the Internet!"

Carycomic said...

Howard's retort: "That was 1998!"

Beverly (now yelling): "Ninety-eight! Ninety-one! What's the difference?"

Howard (with a straight beak): "About seven years."

Ba doom boom! This is a terrific mismatch Ross. I imagine if Jet Jaguar were around in this universe, he would be updated to some big, mean Mecha.

(Bev) "Howard! What is that thing?!" (Howard) "Kaiju!" (Bev) "Gesundheit!"

@Anon 12:22 PM - Yep. Years ago, someone did an animated short where Disney's Prince of the Forest met the King of the Monsters. It did not end well. :(

@Ken: Daviticus pretty much summed up said animated short. (It could even be said that he posted the entire script.)

Well, then let introduce an even more bizarre note. I mean, suggestion! Mickey Mouse and the TMNT's!

Ken Roskos said...

@Bob - Ah yes. :/

Ken Roskos said...

@Carycomic - Hmm! Mickey and the Turtles would be great mix.

They'd be so happy together. ;-D

@Anon@8:54: Maybe if one of them were to mentor a team, starting with Fastback, Super-Turtle, Carapace (Miraculous), et al -- possibly even the Green Turtle. (I find it odd that, apparently, there are no turtle heroes in Spider-Ham's world.)

How about a DAILY BEAGLE co-worker (and fellow photojournalist) named Snappy Turtle? I mean; who knows? If he was created as Earth-8311's version of Jimmy Olsen, he might even become... "The Giant Man-Turtle!"

@Cary: versus Big Hero 6's opponent, "Tohosaurus?"

What is the sound of an exploding sheep?

Carycomic said...

And what is the sound of a pencil writing off a box office flop like 1998's "Matthew Brodzilla"?

@Carycomic: SCRIBBLE-SCRIBBLE-SCRIBBLE-SCRIBBLE!

@Anon@10:22: Ah, so I'm not the only one who remembers that Amazing Karnak (Johnny Carson) gag.

@Cary: I've mentioned this before, but it's been a while. My best friend was a big fan of anything Godzilla, from the original film to whatever was current at the time (she passed away almost exactly 10 years ago). Her favorite Godzilla movie was the one with Matthew Broderick. (Part of it, I suspect, was the antics of Lucy and "Animal" Palotti, who quickly became my own favorite movie couple.)

Sadly, even their comedic antics could not relieve my disappointment in the rest of the movie's faults.
