I really thought that the Omega Men were going to be the next big thing when they were introduced. They were launched out of the red hot New teen Titans, after all. Despite their roster of cool characters, they never really caught on, though - even in later revival attempts. Maybe starting out as a direct only title hurt their chances of finding a wider audience? I know I was still only getting my comics from the newsstand when their series was first published.

I remember The Omega Men! I was reading New Teen Titans and here was this unique team of aliens. I don't know why they didn't catch on. The Adrian Chase Vigilante didn't last very long either...

I thought at time that Omega Men was going to become one of the top sellers and bought a bunch of #1 issues for trading in future. I think that was my last attempt at speculation.
I think something like this has been suggested before, but how about a live action cover with the Avengers (John Steed and Mrs. Peel) vs. Catwoman and the Penguin (TV's Batman series)?
I only vaguely remember the Omega Men... though I'm a tad surprised (and slightly disappointed) that you didn't team them with Alpha Flight.

@Cary: That's how I keep misreading the word these days as well. I keep wondering: Are Vegans vegans? How many vegans might be Vegans in disguise? There's some verbal gymnastics there that probably wouldn't be unwelcome on The Orville.

I was suggesting the particular Avengers meeting due to costuming and umbrellas.
Or, better yet, the Penguin as a new stockholder in the Umbrella Corporation! Maybe after being persuaded to invest in it by Albert Wesker's cousin...Arnold.

as an interesting twist on this idea a photo cover with TVs Steed and Mrs Peel and the Avengers movie bad guy Sean Connery in his giant teddy bear suit????
I bought one issue of Omega Men as a kid, and I was fascinated yet squicked out at the gore (Broot squishing people's heads in his fists with blood squirting between his fingers) and sex/gore (the green scaly lady stripping for some poor sap then killing him, if I recall correctly). Many years later I learned that issue was the debut of Lobo, though he bore little resemblance to the 90s and onward biker Lobo.
For those tv Avengers fans, here's one to take in. In 'The House that Jack Built' we learned Emma's dad's name is John Knight (of Knight Industries). So her seasons were tales about a Knight & her Steed.
One wonders if she had a paternal Uncle Wilton whose childhood hobby was building "KITT" cars?
It might explain why there was so much emphasis on what the Knights were riding.
This team-up idea probably isn't possible, at least short of a photo cover with Margot Robbie, but I figured I'd throw it out there:

I m proud to have the Omega Men's first appearance in Green Lantern with the the George Perez covers. They next appeared in Action Comics leading into New Teen Titans.

Agree about my early expectations for the Omega Men, Ross. Was just re-reading their early Green Lantern appearances. They were definitely DC's attempt to create a "Marvel tram" dynamic. My guess is that they were a decade ahead of their time and then a few years behind the curve when they were re-introduced.
Andy Diggle's Adam Strange maci from the about 10 years ago was a great platform for them. TOM king's more recent maxi was fun but it wasn't an Omega Men story.
