I'm looking forward to seeing Xolo Mariduena bring the Jaime Reyes Blue Beetle to life in the announced HBO Max movie. I hope that the legacy aspect of the character is left intact and that we also get to see Ted Kord in there somewhere, perhaps in a mentor role as eventually happened in the comics. A nod to the original Blue Beetle, Dan Garrett, would just be icing on the cake!

Authentic. Nice feel of the original time frame. Did Blue Beetle, Dan Garrett have any powers or abilities or was he just acrobatic with a rope?
Dan Garret, the Golden Age Blue Beetle (from Holyoke Comics, I believe), was initially a pastiche of the Green Hornet. Fedora, suit, and all! But, in the very next issue, he had switched over to the bulletproof chain mail and cape he was to wear for the rest of the 1940's. Then, with the superhero resurgence of the 1960's came the power boost derived from that azure scarab found by archeologist Dan Garrett (revised spelling courtesy of Charlton Comics). But, as all BB fans know, the super-powered incarnation didn't last long. Dan Garrett was killed off in favor of the Tony Stark/Peter Parker hybrid named Ted Kord.
The rest, as they say, is history.
Say, now that we've had a couple of episodes of What If...? with the Cloak of Levitation doing its thing, maybe we could have a cover with it teamed up with the carpet from Disney's Aladdin?

Somebody in the Comics field -- unfortunately I forget who -- actually told a story that they'd asked BB's creator what had inspired the name and received the reply "Two words: Green Hornet". ;)

And DC cared enough about him to let the 1980s series run for more issues than their then-current guidelines said that the sales figures justified.
Some of those Golden Age fans probably grew up to be those aforementioned writers! :-)
Nice to know that both Dan & Ted were able to strike the right "kord" with those future writers.
This got revealed - Scarlet is suing Disney over releasing her Black Widow movie on
both the Box Office "platform" and the Disney plus streaming platform which may have cost her quite a lot since her salary is based in part on the box office income only.
New territory, just like when VHS pre-records first came out without compensation
for the actors since it wasn't covered in their contracts then.

For your [I hope...] entertainment, here's a bit of further background from my alternative DC multiverse:
The 20th-century 'Legion of Justice' (based in Gotham City, sponsored by philanthropist Dr Thomas Wayne after the founding trio of teenager heroes saved him from an assassination attempt) rejected some applicants as unsuitable, for one reason or another. Five of these, rejected at the same time, decided to form a 'Substitute Legion of Justice' to do good anyway and eventually earned acceptance by the main team. They were Aqua-Boy (Arthur Curry, rejected because he was too dependant on regular immersion in water... and his only non-duplicative power was the useless-seeming "speaking with fish), Miss Magica (Zatara Zatanna; reliance on having to speak her spells considered too much f a vulnerability), Elastic Lad (Ralph Dibny; reliance on an external source for his powers, i.e. Elixir Gingold), Mars Boy (J'onn J'onz; vulnerability to Fire, which is so common, considered too great a weakness), and Gypsy (Cynthia Reynolds; too young, and her 'camouflage' power was seen as too "passive2 in nature); a later addition to their ranks was Bomb Boy (Grant Emerson, i.e. DC's 'Damage', because he had too little control over his explosive power)...
