The Micronauts and Krypto



I'd love to see Krypto show up on Supergirl.  I guess the real question is how difficult or not it would be to create flying scenes with a pooch.  Still, I think he could be pretty easily realized for live action and it would be a treat for comic fans to finally see his live-action debut.

Jason Lee proved with Underdog that a live action film about a flying dog is possible. I was kind of disappointed by the Smallville version of Krypto...

Hey! If they can simulate a live-action cat jumping up and down in front of a second-story balcony, for some kind of feline tidbit, they can simulate a white dog with a red-and-gold cape flying in front of rear-projected blue sky.

While most of the Tintin movie was done with motion capture, the dog, Snowy, was straight-up CGI, so the technology exists to make a flying dog believable (at least visually). How well that would work on a TV show's tight budget and hectic schedule is another question, but if anyone can make it work it's Greg Berlanti's crew.

They should just go all-out with the Legion of Super Pets -- Krypto, Comet the Superhorse, Streaky the supercat, Beppo the supermonkey, ... um, I think Chamelion Boy's blob-like pet was in there maybe? Anyway, seeing live action versions of all of them would be great!

Now that Dr. OTR mentions him, Comet the Superhorse was more closely connected with Supergirl in the comics (at least, during the Silver Age), and would be a more logical addition to the Supergirl show. His origin (originally a centaur, mistakenly cursed by Circe and now turning into a human when a comet passes near) would make for an interesting story, too.
