Grendel and Deadpool

Will Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool survive the Disney/Marvel/Fox merger?  I can understand the desire to reintroduce and recast the previously Fox-controlled characters for the MCU, but Wade Wilson is a special case, I think.  With his realization that he is a fictional character and ability to break the fourth wall, it might be fun to see him continuing on commenting on the changes to come.

The DFM merger would certainly make it feasible to someday see Thanos take on Darth Vader. Or maybe even see Deadpool pitted against Ra's Al Ghul (on Fox Network's GOTHAM)!

Sorry, Cary; Deadpool vs. Ra's al Ghul isn't at all likely to happen, at least on Gotham. That show's about to embark on its final season at half-length, and won't have time for that (though the producers may decide to throw in a Marvel-oriented Easter egg before all is done).

But I do think that we'll see plenty of references to the Disney/Fox merger in the next Deadpool move. Plus, you can definitely expect it to contain at least one Detective Pikachu reference. But we definitely need to see those two meet on this blog before then.

Fans have also been hoping for a good Marvel vs. DC adaptation with the MCU and DCEU. I could certainly see that as a two- or three-part movie, including an Amalgam segment with Chris Evans (or maybe Sebastian Stan) as Super-Soldier, Ben Affleck as Dark Claw, and James McEvoy as Doctor Strangefate. (Personally I'd rather see it with the Arrowverse, with Tyler Hoechlin as Super-Soldier and Hugh Jackman as Dark Claw.)

@Bob Greenwade: sorry to hear about GOTHAM. That's one of the few on-going series from the last five years that I'll be genuinely sad to see end. Maybe Ross can compensate by having Deadpool meet the Demon's Head, here?

While Gotham is going, on a parallel Earth far, far away where Arrow is the cornerstone, Deadpool could be perfect to meet the Demon's daughter there. As a bonus, Ryan could redo Hal to that Earth's Ollie as well. you could even put a big bow on all of it.

I'd say the Arrowverse became more of a corporate millstone for CW.

And, in hindsight, I was right!
