Mister Fantastic and The Atom
I always had a soft spot for super-heroes that were also scientists. That profession always made for interesting story lines and they seemed like the the type who would be heroes even if they did not possess any special powers. Plus, it was fun for me to see the different devices and machinery that would spring from the brains of the scientists by way of the imagination of the writers and artists that worked on them.

Sequel: Elongated Man and Ant-Man!
Villain of the piece: Psycho-Man!
In light of the recent passing of Patrick Macnee, how about a cover featuring Agent Peggy Carter and the world's most famous Avenger...John Steed?
"they seemed like the the type who would be heroes even if they did not possess any special powers"
Marvel once printed an FF story with a flashback to shortly before the team gained their powers, in which Reed used his scientific intelligence to defeat a gigantic alien invader of the type that appeared so frequently in proto-Marvel comics back before the modern 'Superhero era' began...
^_^
Then, too, there's also the now-classic issue of "WHAT IF..." where the FF were normal humans. Called "Reed Richards' Rocket Group."
and the Amalgam Comics 'Challengers of the Fantastic'...
