Martian Manhunter vs. The Hulk

It's an exciting time to be a DC comics fan if you like TV and film adaptations, with so many characters ready to come to life on the big and small screen.  My one real disappointment is no mention of J'onn J'onzz in any of the various plans yet.  I was kind of hoping The Rock was teasing his casting as The Martian Manhunter for the JLA films, but he will be playing Black Adam instead.  DC is certainly giving the character a push, as a new ongoing Martian Manhunter series has been announced, so hopefully that means there is still hope that he is part of their cinematic universe plans.  I guess they have to save something for the sequels!

I still believe someone like Phil Morris or Andy Serkis should play J'onn. The gimmick should be that he could be ANY one. Male, female, black, white; he could be any nationality. Maybe that's J'onn's problem with mass appeal. He's not really WASPy anymore.

I like that Mr. Eko from lost will be playing Waylon Jones - did not see that coming - it's brilliant!

I guess with Superman and Green Lantern, J'onn is a bit redundant.

On the Marvel side, it's a shame that they've decided that the Hulk doesn't need a film series...

If MM ever is brought to the silver screen, they should use a green CGI modeled on Michael Berryman. But, with Christopher Lloyd's voice!

Yay! More green!

Classic Bronze-Age Hulk, including both sides of his personality, is probably my all-time favorite comic book character, but someone should tell him that J'onn was around first. That is someone else should tell him, because I'm sure not going to.

After David Goyer called fans "virgins without lives" for liking Martian Manhunter, I've been keeping my hopes low - what is a shame, because J'onn would be totally amazing in a movie.

@ Tiago Lima:

David Goyer?! Never heard of him.

Anon, David S. Goyer is a screenwriter who has written superhero films such as the Blade trilogy starring Wesley Snipes, The Dark Knight Saga, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance and Man of Steel. His works have become divisive over the past decade and that he sparked controversy in 2014, when he said that She-Hulk was the extension of the male power fantasy, which actually angered many comic book fans and co-creator Stan Lee, who has labelled Goyer's comments as misogynistic.

Thanks, Mateus:

Based on your description, though, he sounds more like a right wing version of modern Steven Ditko.
