Nightwing and Daughters of the Dragon

With Daredevil, Luke Cage and Iron Fist all coming to Netflix, I am surprised that we have not heard about Misty Knight and Colleen Wing as supporting characters on any of the upcoming series. The Daughters of  the Dragon have a history with all of those heroes and would fit right in with the tone that Marvel seems to be setting.  Let's hope as more information is announced, we'll hear about their involvement in at least one of the shows.

Thanks to Jason Powell for the inspiration for this team up!

Wow. I'd never heard of Daughters of the Dragon. Cool team-up! I'm thinking I will check out Daredevil on Netflix.

Great cover, as always.

Personally, I'd rather see Misty and Colleen star in their own series, instead of being supporting characters on the Netflix shows.

Back when before Marvel and DC made their last crossover with JLA/Avengers I always felt they should have done a mini-series starting with Batman and Spider-Woman in a detective story. Part 2 would return to the past with Manhunter (Paul Kirk) and Iron Fist then this as part 3 in the present then Part 4 has all but Mahunter team up. I pictured the whole thing drawn by Scott McDaniel. I felt it would be a good project for Mike W. Barr to do since he wrote the Maze Agency and was good with detective stories or perhaps Chuck Dixon since he is good with action stories.

I imagine the Daughters of the Dragon will show up in some form in the various Netflix series - hopefully they won't stray too far from the source material. And hopefully they'll resist the urge to go with the stereotypical "tough female badass" characterizations, and allow them to display some compassion and honor - you know heroic qualities.
In the comics themselves, Misty seems to pop in semi-regularly, but Colleen (who I prefer as a character of the two) has pretty much disappeared. Usually an extended absence from a partner or cast results in a villainous turn or just a random reappearance that results in death as a plot device. Hopefully a more creative writer will come along at Marvel with a better idea. Who would play Colleen, not many half Asian/half Irish redhead actresses out there. Maybe Devon Aoki with a titian tressed dye job? :)

You know, Lilith (during her solar demigoddess days) would have been more logical as "Flamebird," to Grayson's "Nightwing," rather than a ret-conned Bette Kane.
