Doc Samson and Superman

This is the first cover where I have used an image featuring Superman in his New 52 duds.  It's not a bad look for him, but the collar just has to go.  Frankly with the negative reaction to it as well as the fact that Superman in Man of Steel was collar-free, I am surprised it is still there.  At least he still has some kind of an "S" on the cape.  I prefer a yellow "S" but it's better than the blank look of the movie and cartoons.

Personally, for a team-up with Doc Samson, I think I might have preferred Supes' look from right after his return from "death," when he sported long hair for a while.

And I agree with you about Supes' collar. Taken on its own it's a nifty look, but it's associated too much with military uniforms to be appropriate for Superman.

Regardless of the above, this is an awesome cover.

I don't read Superman boards so I don't know if this has been brought up, or how often, but Superman has had a connection to that collar for a long time without actually wearing it himself. But that might be the Mon El-ephant in the room.

The New 52 has a lot worse problems than Superman's collar.
From what I've seen of it, anyway.

Regression therapy! That's what the Nu52 needs! I dealt with it long enough and out of all the reboots that came and went, it's the worst reboot I have ever seen in years and it needs to go.
