The Thing and Robocop
From what I read online, it sounds like a new Robocop film is indeed in the planning stages. I am looking forward to seeing what happens with this. I thought that the first film was a ton of fun, but the sequels did not live up to it (despite involvement by Frank Miller) and the short-lived TV series that followed was very much a watered down version. I can still remember the first time I saw the movie poster for the original - this was in a time where there was far less advance press or hype for upcoming films so it caught me completely by surprise. "Part man. Part machine. All Cop!" I was sold right there!

Dave sez,
I'm sure a Robocop statue can only improve Detroit tourism...
I've only seen the first Robocop. It was pretty cool. Man, Ronny Cox was a busy guy in the late '80's and early '90's! He was in nearly every action sci-fi flick!
thing and rocky and bullwinkle watch me pull the thing outta my hat
Cool cover :)
By now ROBOCOP remakes out and it sucked donkey chunks!
Really really bad reboot, wish Hollywood would leave alone, do better sequel continuations!
It made ROBO 2 look like an Oscar masterpiece!
