The Thing and Rorschach

I recently watched the entire motion comic DVD for Watchmen in one sitting. For a motion comic, the animation, sound effects and music are done amazingly well. the one place it falls apart is the odd choice that was made to have a single narrator doing all the voices. He is very versatile and offers a wife variety of male voices, which was fine... but he also does all the female voices, which try as he might doesn't really work. I don't need a full cast, but a male and female narration team would have been a far less distracting choice. Despite this, I still recommend this Motion comic highly.

Dave sez,

An interesting team-up! I hope that DC is never able to do anything more with Watchmen beyond the story that Alan Moore has told. I don't think they would do anything more than what they've recently done with the Milestone of Fourth World characters...and I LIKE Nite Owl and Rorshach.

When the first Batman film came out in '89, I got a copy of the book on tape read by Roddy McDowell. He read the book, male AND female characters. I've been meaning to try to burn it to a CD...it is quite unique!

It's as real as you want it to be.

Y'know, my wife bought me the Watchmen Motioncomic episodes for my iPod in the time leading up to the movie. Like you, I agree that the single narrator worked okay for almost everything except female voices.
Ironically, I think I enjoyed the motioncomic more than the movie.
