The Phoenix and Firehawk

Hey, her origin can't be crazier than Rachel Summers', after all. I always thought that Lorraine Reilly gave off kind of a Phoenix vibe with those flaming wings of hers, and thus a cover concept was born!

I thought sure that you'd had these two meet once before. But, I was wrong. I was confusing Phoenix with Frankie (Nova II) Raye @ STF #4399 from last April. A truly inspired combo, Ross!

Oh, I don't know, Ross. What if Rachel proved to be the cousin once-removed of a certain vampire slayer from Sunnydale? The best Lorraine could do (to tie for first place in the Crazy Back Story Dept.) is turn out to be the granddaughter of Rod "Firebrand" Reilly by Carol Vance-Martin (the Golden Age Wildfire)!

I think the only thing crazier than Rachel Summers' origin would be a team-up between Sonic the Hedgehog, Negasonic Teenage Warhead, and Machinehead of the Freefall Warriors.

I have never seen Phoenix PJs outfit but I have not been buying X-Men for a while since Jim Shooter made idiotic comment about her revival and fans will eat up whatever we publish.

Maybe that's the real reason he was nicknamed "Trouble." His ill-advised comments always started some.

Hmmm...what if the "Green Flame of Life" --the Starheart--were the Phoenix Force of the DCU?

Always liked both of these characters. Nice job!!

Wasn't that originally Beatriz DaCosta's superheroic alias: Green Flame? At least, when the Global Guardians were still exclusive to the pre-COIE "Super Friends" comic in the late 1970's?

Phoenix should give her power to Starro The Conqueror so he can become Fire-Starro The Conqueror & battle Spidey, Iceman & about 3 of the X-Men that appeared in their early 80s cartoon (Prof. X, Storm, Angel, Sprite, Cyclops, Nightcrawler, Colossus, Thunderbird & Wolverine). I see a homage to the JLA's very 1st cover appearance.

How about a Snowbird & Firehawk team-up?
