Fantastic Four and The Authority

With The Engineer set to make an appearance in the upcoming Superman movie, it looks like James Gunn is serious about bringing the entire Authority team to the big screen. I do remember really the first few years of stories in their original comic. They were pretty much on their own though, it will be interesting to see how they fit into a world populated with DC heroes.

Never heard of The Authority. They probably came along after my comic reading days. I thought for a second that you meant "The Comics Code Authority".

Nope! They were originally an imprint of Image Comics. That is; till an intra-company crossover event called "Shattered Image" (circa 1996) made the Wildstorm Universe a separate reality. DC bought them circa 2011; integrated them into the mainstream DCU, post-Flashpoint story arc; made them a separate rebooted reality circa 2019; but reportedly reintegrated them as of three or four years ago.

I wonder if the Bob Reynolds and Adrianna Tereshkova versions of The Void are trying to "consort" with one another?

It wouldn't surprise me. Look how much trouble she caused trying to get cosmically cozy with Capt. Atom and Dr. Solar!

The Fantastic Four and America's Best Couple (Apollo and Midnighter)! What more need be said?

I hope the Fantastic Four realize quickly that the Authority are actually super-villains pretending to be heroes and send them to the Negative Zone quickly.

True! They should be siding with Planetary. Reed, alone, would get a kick out of confabbing with Elijah Snow.

Do not see reason to mix in The Authority when DC Universe already has unutilized characters.

You mean, like Challengers of the Unknown?

@Anon912: Ross has already had the FF and the Challs team up. But, they're long overdue for a reunion. Because, this Monday will be the 13th anniversary of that first meeting!
