Deadman and The Hulk

This is another pairing that I have meant to get to for a long time.  Would Boston Brand be able to handle taking control of The Hulk?  I guess it depends on how mad the big guy is when the attempt is made.

Wow! Very cool! I wonder the same thing, if Sam Beckett Quantum Leaped into The Incredible Hulk. I would guess we would have something similar to Professor Hulk? Or something like that very cool Prometheus episode. That would be another cool mash-up! This one is very awesome!

A very good question, Ross. Because it was canonically established that the child-like (= 1970's era) Hulk had a primitive-enough mind set that he could perceive Dr. Strange's astral body! So, Deadman might therefore be just as easily spotted. On the other hand, the original "Books of Magic" series established that Deadman, while capable of temporarily taking over a werewolf, could and would be mentally thrown out within five minutes or less. So, if Boston Brand tried that with another strong-minded anthropomorphic creature (like, say, the super-telepathic Gorilla Grodd), the take-over would most likely be frustratingly brief.

In short; the Hulk would probably see Deadman coming. But, while he wouldn't be able to stop the take-over completely, he would all too-quickly throw it off through plain old, gamma power-enhanced stubbornness.

So, in other words: "Hulk is most stubborn one there is."

Pretty much, yeah.

Well, according to strict Quantum Leap rules (which were frequently bent for individual episodes), Sam Beckett physically replaced the person he "leapt into," but maintained a psychic aura that made people see him as the person he replaced. So he would be in big trouble. Not as much trouble as the Project QL team in the waiting room, though.

as Boston leaves his Brand on this Banner Day, the local yokel is jumping around like he has a major hotfoot! Might help if he had a real goal. Maybe that change of wardrobe? Maybe flying lessons? That's tonight's show.
