Superman and Warlock

Often in comics, when two heroes first meet there is a misunderstanding that leads them to battle each other before joining forces against a common foe. For this story, I thought the could beat the bad guy before fighting each other for once. You have to mix things up once in a while, right?

Superman wins.

That’s.ADAM Warlock!

Oi. If this Warlock still has the soul gem, then stealing, and trying to contain Superman's soul would be a challenge in itself. Otherwise the first Anon is right. Of course, their contest could be about who can do something that would be the most constructive. Then my money would still be on Superman.

What if Adam is trying to throw down with Superman because of some previously dormant (and unsuspected) genetic program? Namely; finding a perfect mate! The Marvel superheroine called Kismet (nee Paragon aka "Her" and technically a TG superhero) once hijacked Quasar as a potential mate.* Why couldn't she, in the Rossverse, be experiencing that drive once again? Only, now, Adam Warlock is feeling it, too! And, knowing that Kismet has focused on Kal-El, he's determined to show his "rival" up (a la that one-time duel with Prince Aldain of Galador**).

*In the 20th century of Marvel Earth-Killraven, they did have a kid; future GOTG Starhawk!

**See Action Comics v. 1/#451 (Sept. 1975).

Testing-testing-123! Am I back on the air? Good! It seems like every time I want to half-seriously suggest Armless Tiger Man vs. Arms-Fall-off Boy (maybe with Roulette refereeing the ultimate "Unarmed Combat!"), my sign-in mode seems to malfunction. As Foghorn Leghorn might say to Fox Mulder: "It's a conspiracy, son. I say-I say it's a conspiracy!"

I have a feeling this will work out much like many of Supes' races against the Flash: inconclusively, since they'll get interrupted by something more pressing.

Superman is not like others. He knows he is good, but there are better beings in different departments. He doesn't have an ego problem. He could easily say You want the title, fine. You have it. Supes has nothing to gain with a title. There are many stronger or faster, but he gives it his all to get the needed job done.

Then, maybe someday, Ross can amalgamate the Adam Warlock image from STF #2385 with Superman's one-time opponents from STF #359!
