Maybe Robin is trying to repay a debt to the Agents of Atlas (from STF #2989) by exposing how one of them (his cousin Bob, perhaps?) was replaced by a Dire Wraith impersonator. Similar to how Mystique once impersonated Black Canary @ STF #2259!

It's only very recently dawned on me that you were sourcing some of your art from interior pages - with lower production values. (I'm always pleased with myself if I can spot where you've found the original cover - maybe this helps to explain my low success rate.) Anyway, I'm really impressed by how convincingly you upgrade them to full cover quality. Terrific attention to detail. Thanks for all the hard work.

I'm curious as to the answer to ROM's question as well. Cary's answer, though, creative, doesn't quite work for me.

And re: Anon@7:53's remark, two thoughts:

1. Calendar Man might be a good individual to feature on a New Year's cover, perhaps along with Father Time and/or Big Fat Baby (both from the cartoon show Histeria!).

2. Where were we "on the subject of Calendar Man"???

OK, I found the Calendar Man reference (on yesterday's page).

Also, how about a pairing of Hondo Ohnaka and Quark? Those are two individuals with a love of profit.

Sheesh, a guy can't sleep in for once? But yes, I don't think I have ever used Calendar Man yet. Histeria is not something I am familiar with however.

Davejonz, Thanks for the kind words and yes, if I stuck only to starting with actual covers it would be limiting as far as image selection goes, so I look anywhere and everywhere that I can fund usable artwork.

A true fan can do so much with open threads. Robin knows that coming out of the pool brings insanity to the being. He knows how to think and plan, so i would guess he has an idea not thought of before. (I hope!)

Ross, getting college kids could help AND not only give them a work credit but also widen their thinking. Eventually, you might get more sleep too.

@Ross: "Histeria: was Warner Brothers' semi-parodic answer to the FCC mandatory requirement for a certain percentage of educational/informative children's TV programs back in the 1990's. In New England, it got syndicated via Fox 61 (formerly Old Channel 5/WNEW Metromedia TV) in NYC.

@Tobor: The Lazarus Pit mentally stabilized the Joker's insanity during that "Wheel of Plagues" story arc with Ra's Al Ghul. So maybe Robin's calculated risk-taking involves reanimating and (briefly) humanizing some Dire Wraith mastermind whose latest evil plot was activated by going recently deceased.
