Dear Ross: call me a pessimist if you want. But, here's what I think of their chances for success.

At least we now know why Doc was absent from the cover of STF #4330. The rest of the (more capable) Defenders were already trying to rescue him!

Well, then, I'll just take up their slack. How about Deathlok vs. Dethlok (from METALOCALYPSE)? With or without the former's fellow Skip Tracer, Judge Dredd?
I love their original appearance. Makes me laugh. Brilliant use of the original material.
I think they have a chance to impress the good doctor here.

That doesn't sounds bad, besides the Monster Allergy cartoon aired on Kids WB and had a premier promo announced by Shaggy.
It must have been a work-week mid-afternoon cartoon. Available only to kids home from school after 3PM. Not grown-ups who work till 6PM. Because I literally never heard of it before this article!
I'm trying to recall the original main source for this cover. Did it have Adam Warlock as the captive?
