Didn't he briefly team-up with the Falcon, in the real-world MTU, against Plant Man?
@Carycomic: Yep! MTU v.1/#71 (circa 1972).
That seems to be a trope: redheads wearing green outfits. Consider DC's Rose and The Thorn, also Dorothy Seaton in Doc Smith's Skylark novels.
Unless it is the Marvel Movie Universe where Spiderman seems to have his mask off more than on while in costume.
Red and green, blue and orange & yellow and purple are sets of opposite colors when mixing ink and paint. Blue + Yellow = green, etc.
This is the interesting thing about Spider-Man's and Batman's respective rogues' galleries: many of them can switch to the other, and still look quite natural. There's even a little overlap: Killer Croc and the Lizard, Green Goblin and the Joker, Chameleon and False-Face, even Man-Bat and Man-Spider. Any of those pairs would be a good excuse for a Batman/Spider-Man team-up. We've also seen the Spider-Signal on this blog (though it's been too long since the last time), and of course both movie franchises have seen J. K. Simmons in key roles (Gordon and Jameson).
But Spidey could have* interesting adventures against the Penguin, Clayface, Mr. Freeze, Two-Face, or even the Ventriloquist; while Batman could be pitted against the Kingpin, Silvermane, Mysterio, Hammerhead, Scorpion, or the Vulture. And those are just the ones I can think of off the top of my head.
And today's cover looks almost exactly like what a cover would look like in the early 70s with these two characters, and I'd be certainly interested in checking it out.
*In some cases, may have already had here; I'm not inclined right now to check.
Off topic: I just thought of another Bat-Villain vs. non-DC hero battle which might work:
Ra's Al Ghul vs. James Bond.
I went and checked the Bond appearances on STF to make sure our host hadn't done that already. He has brought 007 into Batman's world several times, but never against Ra's.
I have been seen the solicits for Gang War currently running in Spider-Man and that combine with today's mix up makes me think. Isn't it time for a multiparter with Batman and his allies teaming with Spider-Man and his allies to stop a gang war between Penguin and the Kingpin?
Spidey: I'm all for 'Going Green' but You're taking it a little too far. It's the 'Big Apple'! Not a salad bowl.

I'd thought you'd title this one "Spidey vs. Ivy = Man-Poison" (using as much of both character's names as possible & the first 2 even rhyme). "Webs & Weeds" is okay I guess.
I can't recall if you ever had the telepath Gorilla Grodd (P. Ivy's SSSV partner) going up against Spidey's spider-sense. It'd make an interesting match-up as they both are strong & fast. Maybe Spidey foe The Grizzly could team up with Grodd against Spider-Man & Big Bear (from The Forever People).
Or, even better, Grodd and Deadshot against Spidey and the Hit Monkey!
