The Penguin Vs. The Vulture

One of the things I am most interested to see in The Batman is Colin Farrel's performance as The Penguin.  He's unrecognizable under the make-up for the role and I've been intrigued with what he's been doing with the character in  the brief snippets we have been shown so far.

I am always happy to use artwork by the amazing Norm Breyfogle, an artist gone way soo soon.  I was lucky enough to get a sketch by him back in the day:

Awesome cover!
I hate coming off wrong about this, but I just don't know about Collin Farrell as The Penguin. The gimmick is the character is supposed to be short and fat. In the Timm-Dini Universe that was used as an angle for him to want to be part of High Society. He didn't fit in because of his looks. Now, it may be too early to tell, I'm sure... but when I hear of it, I'm scratching my head wondering, What? Why?

@AirDave, like Hugh J. for Wolverine?

Mr. Breyfolge undeniably had a gift for dramatic shadowing. Although, I'm forced to wonder if that white spot, on the forehead of Batman's mask, is supposed to be a sniper's targeting laser beam.

As for today's cover-sim? Excellent! You finally made someone's earlier request for a Battle of the Birds come true. I want to guess that Bob Greenwade is the wish-maker. But, I'm 51% sure I'm wrong!

For my own part, I happen to think that the best Penguin portrayal has been by Danny DeVito (though I still love both Burgess Merideth and Robin Lord Taylor).

Great premise for today's cover, Ross. The hinted-at story is credible, and the title is spot-on.

This is a brilliant pairing of images. Really clever.
Also an intriguing pairing of villains - a flier versus a lame duck (or penguin). Maybe Penguin is jealous of those wings?
Although Penguin may be about to clip them - or something worse. From the cover, it looks as if he's aiming at an even more vulnerable part of Vulchie's anatomy...

If it's the part I'm thinking of, Mr. Toomes might wind up singing more shrilly than a green canary!

@Anon: LOL!

This is a great cover. You really get the impression that they're going to tear into each other.
