Drax the Destroyer and Superman

One adjustment that I hope is made for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is Drax' personality.  In the first movie, he was presented as a noble, fierce warrior whose literal interpretations led to some humorous moments.  In the second movie and his appearances with the Avengers, Drax pretty much became a completely humorous character and came off as somewhat of a buffoon.  Let's hope his emotional balance is restored for his next cinematic outing.

Superman by Byrne is always a treat. Ironic that the C W show has him being portrayed by a regular guy. With the yellow sun and lighter gravity anyone from Krypton can be just as super but without the bulky muscles showing.

I remember when Drax, when he originated in the comics, didn't have any emotions to balance...

Wow. Fantastic composition here, Ross.

@ Simreeve: Me, too! Imagine Superman with Wolverine's ruthlessly practical attitude (pre-X-men) and you get what was so initially appealing about Drax.

@ Ross: Unfortunately, you stand a better chance of seeing that original (= Late Silver Age) version of Drax, on the silver screen, rather than the extra-terrestrial version of Conan the Barbarian from GOTG Volume 1. Especially if the next sequel to it is directed by somebody who's as contemptuous of continuity-minded movie-goers as the guy who directed Star Wars Episode 8!

I really think Drax would look a lot better if they had Drax with outfit in comics. He could then be shown how tough he is by having blasts destroy his outfit while he was unharmed. Sometimes I think of Marvel Cinema Universe replaced Guardians of Galaxy with Inferior Five's personalities.

I really would like to see Drax become more like the comics version - especially if it turns out he still has some relationship with Moondragon (although I doubt he will turn out to be an Earthman transformed to serve as a living weapon to hunt Thanos).
