Amanda Waller and Power Man & Iron Fist

Oh, I can't imagine this set up going too well.  Luke and Danny are used to working for others, but under the condition that they will be paid for their efforts.  Waller is used to being in control of subordinates, but under the threat of lethal consequences if they don't follow her orders.  There's bound to be plenty of friction with them all trying to work together, and that usually makes for an interesting story.

Amanda previously met these two in STF #2821...

Great cover, Ross. And easily adapted as a MCU/DCEU crossover.

This period of Ostrander's Squad could have benefitted from a Marvel crossover. Can't wait for the Bronze Tiger/Daughters of the Dragon follow-up.

Can't see Waller as a field op. (Surprised you didn't put #2821 in the tags from their first meet. How does that get done?)

Waller has always been the human version of the Supreme Intelligence because she
either is directing or gathering intel. Much like when we first met Kingpin - pure brain power overseeing everything. Love to see a real chess match between these two.

If she's in the field, who's her #2 in her ear feeding her so she doesn't get caught short? Her Smallville shot showed she could have potential.

@Det. Tobor: "If she's in the field, who's her #2...?"

The aptly-named King Faraday, perhaps?

@Ross: as today is St. Patrick's Day, I'm mildly surprised you didn't have Shamrock or Banshee teaming up with the Silver Age Jack O'Lantern (of Global Guardians fame).

Dear Ross: How difficult was it to _not_ entitle this with some kind of "Great Wall of China" joke?

That was a magically transformed leprechaun into a dragon? Genius! And by getting this taken care of so quickly she got the gratitude of 4 big international groups owing her. Typical.
But Ross watch those adds you accept. Getting a pass to try a special sample ride from a self driving car? Bit too early yet. Especially if it goes in water and you can't open the door.

Yet another great cover! It Comes together perfectly. Missed opportunity with that "Great Wall of China" pun though.

I wonder: does too much Aldebaran whiskey make one see PINK dragons?

Waller's a bit of a control freak. If she's working the case in person, you can bet it's for a reason. Likely she wanted first-hand analysis of Luke and Rand, with the intention of owning them to put those powers to better use.

@Crazy Ivan: you mean, use them and their powers for her own purposes! Which, as so vividly demonstrated during the Janus Imperative, did not always make things better...at all.

Despite her ego, she is. Wonder if she ever tried to get some kind of upgrade?

Carycomic said...

Considering her ego makes her twice as frigid as Capt. Cold? Any upgrade towards true humanitarian would be an improvement!

I (reluctantly) gotta side with Cary on this one, Horace.
