The Phantom Stranger and The Watcher in: "Holiday Spirits!"

I would like to take this time to say Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you all.  2020 has been trying for everyone but I hope we can all find a way to still connect with our loved ones for the Holiday Season.  I truly appreciate all who take the time to visit this blog.  Comic reading and collecting has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember, but almost always something I did on my own.  This blog has helped me reach out and share my love for the creators and characters in the world of comics with so many others, and that has been a real treat.  Thank you to those who share their comments, praise, corrections and suggestions for future covers, you help keep this a vibrant place.  A huge thank you of course goes to my Patreon Patrons - your support has helped this blog continue for over 10 years!  I can't tell you how much it means to me!

The Phantom Stranger first met The Watcher way back in STF #66...

Ross, here's wishing you as happy a Christmas as possible in a very difficult time (and the same to all visitors to the blog).
Also a great big THANK YOU for your wonderful blog which has helped sustain me and keep me sane. You have made STF just a truly wonderful alternate reality to dip into. Congratulations!

HAPPIER HOLIDAYS AND 2021. I think it's fair to say, we earned it.
Great Cover...but P.S. smiling? Not a common sight.
Love the DC Marvel titles you get to put out; Tales of Adventure, Detective's Mystery, Action and Suspense, Showcase Previews, My Greatest Journey, and the rest of your titles that make up a library of books worth collecting.

For an upcoming cover- Phantom Stranger & The Lone Ranger in: Was That a Masked MAN?

Aw... Maybe next year we can get the "Escape from the North Pole!" cover with Kurt Russell. And some time maybe you could team up Luke Cage (Mister "Sweet Christmas!" himself) with the Silent Knight.

Another thought: "Magneto's Christmas Carol," with (say) Yoda, the Phantom Stranger, and Caesar (Planet of the Apes).

The only downside of this cover is that all of the ornaments are Marvel and DC. Other franchises could have been represented -- specifically, there's been quite a run on Grogu tree toppers (in place of that star). Otherwise, I wouldn't change a thing; I can think of no better defenders of the Christmas spirit than these two.

Taking up Horsefeathers' comment, if you want a cover to represent 2020, I think it'd be more fitting to use Plague (the Morlock whom Apocalypse used as his first Pestilence Horseman) and Homelander. For New Year's, however, let's have the Big Two's respective icons of hope: Superman and Captain America.

Addendum: Plague and Homelander could be both working for Emperor Palpatine! There's your 2020 cover!

Excellent Ross! I have to admit, while I can imagine the Phantom Stranger standing in for the Ghost of Christmas Future, the Watcher is the last person I would expect to join in a for a Yuletide celebration. But the big guy has always had a soft spot for Earth, I guess.

Yeah, 2020 has been a curse for friends and family the world over, and your Brave and Bold blog always provides relief during the lockdown.

Maybe next year, could we see "Christmas on Infinite Earths", where we can view December 25ths both miserable, and fantastic?

Merry Christmas everyone!

@Ken: maybe Uatu's developed a soft spot for The Holidays as a result of watching them for centuries. To paraphrase an anthropological axiom: "Observing affects both observer and observed."

As for the Phantom Stranger smiling? This time of year probably makes him feel nostalgic for the old heavenly homestead.

@Ross: there's little else I can add to what everyone else has said except to similarly wish you and yours the merriest of Christmases...and profoundest thanks. :-)

Thanks to all for the Christmas wishes!

Dear Santa: for Christmas 2023, I'd like Chance Falconer to team up with Martin Mystery.

Dear Santa: I've changed my mind! For this Xmas, I'd prefer Martin Mystery teaming up with Metamorpho against a plausible mutual enemy: Java the reanimated cave man.
