As a kid I thought that The Wonder Twins were an improvement over Wendy and Marvin, who seemed pretty useless on The Super Friends. At least they had powers and could join in on the action. Still, if they had to have more teens on the team, I would have preferred they used established DC characters like Wondergirl, Aqualad or Kid Flash.

You guys see the Super Friends, I see the JLA. The Friends (presumably a TV show?) never came into my orbit. It's still a really effective team up. Great work fitting all those characters together so seamlessly.
The Wonder Twins were supposed to represent Donny and Marie Osmond, who were huge at the time.
I never heard that but it makes perfect sense.
AWESOMENESS π.
They're not Skrulls, Charlie. They're mutant Vulcans!
Half right, Cary. They're the product of the union between Simon Williams and a time-traveling T'Pau.
And yes, that is a suggestion, Ross. So is this: Mogo vs. the Death Star.
There was an article about the Wonder Twins in an issue of Back Issue! that spoke about the Donny & Marie influence on the creation of the Twins. Wish I could remember which one.
@Bob: But, which T'Pau? The elderly matriarch who officiated at Spock's challenge? Or Tuvok's wife?
BACK ISSUE 38: 'Purple Prose:The Perplexing Popularity of the Wonder Twins'... according to wikipedia, at least...
"Shape of a tidal wave!"
"Form of a white sperm whale who sounds like Lurch Addams!"
@Cary: Sorry, I meant T'Pol. I don't know why I said T'Pau.
@Anon@5:45: That's funny; but Lurch didn't have a last name (he wasn't a literal member of the family).
@Bob: I know. But, if I said "...sounds like Ted Cassidy..." somebody is sure to have asked "You mean, the guy who was turned into Blue Devil?"
Ah! The jadedness of today's youth.
@Anon751: You mean, that superheroine who resembled the love child of Hal Jordan and the She-Hulk?
;-)
Maybe Jana could share a cover with the Jetsons; her frequent use of the catchphrase word "spacey" sounds like it belongs on "The Jetsons".
That'd be "spaceriffic!"
Great composition, Ross! Fun story too.
How about the Wonder Twins meeting up with Spaceman Spiff and Hobbes?
My money's on Spiff. I can see Spiff asking Hobbes what happened to the 'water guy', and a deadpan tiger stating, "I drank him."
Well, Monty Python always said that Hobbes was fond of his dram.
