Wow, hard to believe we are at STF #2800 already (cover #3310 overall) - time flies!
While the Justice League may have missed the mark in their big screen attempt, the Justice Society is ready for their chance at live action. They are going to be featured in as supporting players and in flashback scenes on the upcoming Stargirl series, which looks fun based on the trailer. Then there's the Black Adam movie, which also promises to feature a number of JSA members as well. It'll be interesting to see which characters make the cut for both projects.

Seriously, though: look at it this way, Ross. The JLA movie, for all its flaws, was simply testing the waters for the Aquaman solo sequel.*

This celebrating every hundred issues reminds me, the first Gerber baby's 93rd birthday was given fanfare; that's more compassionate than "rooting" for her to die "so her obituary could entertain the media's public (like the late Michael Jackson's appeared to do (there was even a political cartoon where some "shmoe" just(?) want to go back to indulging(?) in the news about DEAD Michael Jackson)).
Did that person's 93rd birthday at least earn him/her a Google doodle? If so, that puts him/her one-up on (Google's mistreatment of) Jack Kirby's centennial!

The JSA did appear on Legends of Tomrrow, though they didn't really get a proper treatment from my perspective. They also had a part on Smallville, though the only one we really got to see much of was Hawkman. I'll be interested to see how Stargirl handles them; at the very least, I'm expecting Henry Thomas to be a good choice as Doctor Mid-Nite.

You certainly pull out all the stops for the 100s. A lot to take in. A special treat to see the JSA, though. And Sergeant Rocket... Now that's just perfect and is crying out for follow-ups. Fury and the Howling Raccoons?
Anyway congratulations on longevity, creativity and sheer stamina.

In a 'Champions' campaign where I was running one of the superheroes, back in the early '80s, we encountered an NPC called "Rick Furry, Raccoon Agent of SHIELD."

Jay Johnson: The original Tarantula wore a virtually identical yellow and purple costume. Here's a pic:

The All-Star Squadron had an issue exploring Tarantula's origin which explained why they started out with the same costume, before Tarantula branched out into his brown version (which was an 80s recton, I believe).
@JJ: as far as I know (from the one reprint I ever read of his Golden Age adventures during the Seventies), just Jonathan "The Tarantula" Law. And even that got ret-conned during the Eighties!

Jay and Cary, the Tarantula colour scheme was also used for the Arachnerd in Thom Zahler's excellent series Love and Capes.
I miss Chameleon Boy. In an early throw away gag, the LSH showed him on a parallel world meeting an alternate version of himself. He was really underused.
As to the main feature, wow. Ross, were you able to get a JSA crowd scene like that or did you have to build it up?
For those interested on the tv version of CRISIS on INFINITE EARTHS, the Kingdom Come Superman really stood out. Also, actor Jon Cryer is a big comics fan that collects Kirby artwork and goes to conventions. Not expected.

Remove them and the Maple Leaf Mutants would stand a fighting chance, but with those two almost-omnipotent characters in the JSA, this fight would be over in less time than it took me to type this comment.
This cover is gorgeous, but how is it that it didn't get a Tag for John Byrne? He is a master artist on display for much of this great cover.
Byrne only did the shaman image, and blogger only allows you so many characters to use for labels.
@Anonymous623: Arachnerd's about as legitimate a counterpart as the Cobweb Kid (on the Inferior 5's Earth).
