Doctor Fate Vs. Loki in: "Exiled... on Earth!"

It will be interesting to see where Loki goes in his solo Disney+ series.  Will he seek redemption for his past deeds or revert to his villainous ways?  How will he use the Tesseract which he now possesses? And just how many timelines or alternate realities will he visit? There seem to be plenty of opportunities for a fun tale to be told.

These two first battled in STF #2101...

Ross, this is a piece of work that the JSA would be proud to have.

This could be a great part one. Part 2: Loki sends his own Dr Fate out to undermine the good Dr's name. Things take some surprising turns until the end as we see ...
Loki's Fate!

Since you had The Enchantress and now Loki, care to make it a three for all with The Executioner vs The Spectre?

Better yet, The Executioner vs The Fatal Five's Persuader in Clash of the Battle Axes!

Actually, det_Tobor, I regard this as part 2...with part 1 being the mystic cat-fight between A & Z. I mean, let's face it! Two of DC's mightiest mages battling two of Asgard's most powerful? This sounds like another carefully manufactured conflict (a la the Markovia/Wakanda War).

As Thor, himself, might say: "Methinks Dr. Doom doth be at it, again."

Maybe 'Dr Chaos' (DC; just one appearance, pre-Crisis, I think...) is involved?

Keep in mind that the Loki in the series will be the version who escaped after the Battle of New York, and thus was never involved in the events since then. I suspect that he'll be starting a new redemption arc, though.

And I second HHH's battle-axe suggestion. And just for giggles, include a side-appearance from, or at least a reference to, Amanda Waller.

Now, there's my idea of a battle of wits. Dr. Doom and the Wall trying to outfox each other!

I can see Loki vs Dr. Fate, magic vs magic. I would like to see someone like Loki go up against the inferior Five

Hyram H. Horsefeathers here. @Carycomjc, would the two playing chess long distance a la Justice League #1 (a century ago?) be ok?

@Anon 9:30, couldn't agree more with you. Look at my 8:42 post.

@Bob G., I second your second. And Amanda would too.

Since it's the Christmas season, how about teaming some old 1980s toy properties? Masters of the Universe & Transformers, GI Joe & Thundercats, Voltron & Bravestarr, etc.

Whatever Loki does, I know it will be EPIC!

I wonder...wouldn't Thor and Wolverine make great members of The Invaders?

@Hyram: The Spectre vs. Hela would probably me more appropriate.

P.S.---yeah, a revamp of that cover would likewise suffice.

I wonder what Ross is going to give us for Dec. 24? My Xmas wish would be...RUDOLPH VS. STARRO! :-)

@Carycomic & ©Horsefeathers, the two players have all their pieces done with Puppet Master's radioactive clay. Each player has to control all their pieces simultaneously as a real battle of intelligence and will power.
One such challenge: Moon Knight vs Eclipso.

another could be Hulk vs Pyscho Pirate.

Carycomic said...

Or Validus vs. the 1970's Hulk!

Jay Johnson said...

Or a PG-rated Rule 34 cover, Vampirella vs Satana in a contest to see which can get the higher booty, er body, count.

Would Kraven vs Animal Man count?

Carycomic said...

@Jay Johnson: if it's PG-13 you want, how about Bova and "I...Vampire" (1970's version) vs. Hellcow?

My mind keeps returning to this match-up, and thinking that it could be revisited with the MCU's Tom Hiddleston and Smallville's Brent Stait. In both cases, the costumers did an outstanding job in taking an outfit that could have looked ridiculous and giving it appropriate gravitas (in the latter case, not much was changed, and the costumer appropriately gave partial credit to the lighting designer and the actor, but she still gets a salute from me).
