Green Arrow and Daredevil in: "Revenge of the Racketeers!"

He didn't wear it for long, but I have always gotten a kick out of Daredevil's first costume.  Sure, the all-red version is a classic and makes more sense, but the original look has that great golden-age feel to it.

Green Arrow crossed paths with Daredevil and Black Widow in STF #1666  and STF #1935, and first teamed with DD solo in STF #590...

Feels like a 1950's cover Ross. These two work very nicely together.

Your past covers show a friction that doesn't show here. Why is Queen not a blond? Thought he forever was. Wally Wood"s still missed. DD's yellow threads were recycled with D-Man weren't they?
You could "intro" a young Ted Kord here and make him their tech specialist.

Black Lightning just got sucked into the Inf Earths Crisis. And Ollie is still being worked on. Conroy did good in it.

So, this is like a flashback prequel, set before their three "later" adventures? Clever!

Ah, the Golden Age Green Arrow! This is back when Oliver's entire existence was based on him being a Batman knockoff with an archery theme, and his costume was basically as a modern-day Robin Hood complete with that pointy hat. The outfit even got a nod when Justin Hartley debuted in the role on Smallville.

@Fishing: That's why Ollie's not blond here; this is the Golden Age version, or at least early Silver Age, so what friction the two of them have shown in past appearances haven't happened yet. STF stories don't necessarily take place in chronological order.

(On a vaguely related note, I'd be interested in seeing an actual limited-series comic showing the WW/Cap romance in its entirety. It would be especially cool if, as occasionally requested, they met their daughter from the future: American Maid!)

Am I correct in remembering that the Golden Age GA (on Earth-2) was killed by shadow demons during the original Crisis? And when PTB got around to an single Earth 7 Soldiers his place was taken by the Spyder?

Yes, Golden Age GA, I much prefer this costume to the later flashier one. And I remember the yellow DD original fondly, though I eventually got used to the all-red.

Bob, I'm all for your WW/Cap romance idea. Of all your on-going series, Ross, that has to be my favourite (well, given that my fave-fave, Bruce Wayne turning out to be Spidey's legitimate dad was only a one-off...poor Spidey has no chance of inheriting the Bat-cave...)

@BG, is she anything like her brother, American Built ?

@Jay Johnson: that's correct. In the pre-Crisis Golden Age, he was the star of a back-up story series called "Alias The Spider." The only reprint I ever read of him, though, gave me the impression he didn't do much to keep that alias a truly secret identity!

In any case, his public persona was millionaire playboy Tom Halliday (not to be confused with Marvel's Tom "the Golden Age Angel" Halloway). And, yes, he did use a bow-and-arrows a la Oliver.

Yes, you are.
Although there was also a different "single Earth" '7 Soldiers', in a limited series called 'DC Legends' (and written by Len Wein): In that, the E2 GA & Speedy's post-Crisis substitutes were TNT & Dan the Dyna-Mite instead (with Len apparently having missing TNT's death during WW2 in 'Young All-Stars'...)

@Simreeve: If most readers could unquestioningly accept the Superboy of pre-Crisis Earth Prime changing history with just a few punches, to various voyeuristic force fields, Len Wein's alleged arbitrariness is child's play to ignore.

@HHH: Probably not. American Maid was the single competent superhero in the animated Tick series.

@Bob Greenwade: if these two had been teamed up with Brian Secord against Clayface (due to Clayface impersonating Brian), Ross could have called this...

"Revenge of the Rocketeers!"

DD's original costume looks like a blind guy put it together.

Whoa! Did I really just say that?
