Black Widow and Mademoiselle Marie

I was surprised to learn that the upcoming Black Widow solo film is tentatively planned to be the first of a trilogy.  It looks like having her character killed off has not slowed her down much!  I can see it working, as there's plenty of stories to explore in her past. How cool would it be to use one of the sequels to introduce Daredevil into the MCU proper?  I used to love him and Black Widow as a team and couple.

Even though Steve was with his girl, he's too loyal to his Civil War team to not be an occasional guardian angel if he knew she was around. He might even use the name of one of his 1950s impersonators for a cover.
Different actresses could play BW as she gets older. Be interesting to see if she uses everything, including her body, to get her jobs done.

Going forward, I think future Black Widow outings won't be featuring Natalia Romanova but Yelina Belova. In the same way, after the Hawkeye show on Disney+, any future appearances by the titular hero will likely be not Clint Barton but Kate Bishop.

Oh, and as for Daredevil, the current rumor is that Charlie Cox will be reprising the role in the upcoming Spider-Man sequel. Of course nothing can be confirmed for about another year, when the two-year "cooling off" period from Marvel's contract with Netflix is over.

Who knows? That BW film could even amalgamate her come-back with part of the Golden Age Black Widow's origin! Except, of course, the otherworldly entity for the film version would have to be ret-conned as someone slightly less supernatural. Like, say, Hela of Niffleheim?

A similar plot device could be used to describe Natasha's modern-day presence during WWII. Like, say, Claire Voyant getting hold of the Cosmis Cube and using it partially on Natasha's behalf.

Why would it be interesting to see if she "uses her body"?

Since nobody's made the obvious suggestion, I will: The Red Room (S.J.'s Natasha) vs. Red Sparrow (JLaw's Dominika). Do it before the Rule 34 parody comes out!

@cgl66: to paraphrase the immortal words of Louie Armstrong?

Black Widow Life Model Decoy Skrull magic and on and on and on.
As she falls, she gets sent to the past, lives for years, then comes back and completes the fall.

@Anon 2:18:I wonder; isn't feminine eye-candy attractive without adventure; look at The Mary Tyler Moore Show Julia, Gilligan's Island, etc. for some proof.

I saw the title before I saw the image, and I honestly thought this was going to be a pairing of Black Widow with Miz Ma'm'selle Hepzibah from Pogo. (Which, come to think of it, would be a fantastic meet-up!)

Simreeve said...

There was a 'Hepzibah' among Marvel's Starjammers, too. Maybe SHE could meet the one from 'Pogo' (after whom a travelling Earthman had actually named her)?

@Anonymous858: GILLIGAN'S ISLAND sometimes offered adventure. Spoofs of the stereotypical kind of adventure (cannibalistic tribes from neighboring islands, Gothic horror, etc.). But, adventure just the same.

Right.

P.S.---I remember one adventure where Gilligan's dental fillings were picking up distant radio frequencies. And both Ginger and MaryAnn wound up fighting over him (via which of their favorite programs he'd help get tuned in, first)!

I've long felt that Gilligan's Island missed a golden opportunity to do some kind of football episode, where the castaways were implored to "go out and win one for the Skipper."

Would you settle for their playing alongside the Harlem Globetrotters against a team of robot basketball players?
