Taskmaster has been announced as the main villain in the upcoming Black Widow solo film. There had been speculation for weeks, but now it has been confirmed at Comicon. This is good news, because he is a great villain with a unique power set that should result in some exciting fight sequences. Production art indicates that he will have a costume very close to the comics (minus the cape).

Awwww! Too bad. That sounds a lot like Rex Smith as Daredevil...minus the cerato-cephalous cowl.
Since Bane is chemically enhanced super strength, would that render Taskmaster as another Batman to Bane?
If I were a compulsive gambler (like my folks), I'd put my money on the Taskmaster. One knife throw, a la Bullseye, and that hose on the back of Bane's mask springs a Venomous leak.
Come to think of it, if he survives, Bane could go up against Eddie "Venom" Brock on a sequel cover-sim!
Now let's just hope they have the guts to leave is mask on, if they put a mask on him. I HATE Captain America, Iron Man, or Spider-Man having to take their masks off for half the movie in a battle because no one will recognize them.
Taskmaster is a good choice. He couldn't do very well against Iron Man or the Hulk, I believe, but against another enhanced human, it ought to be quite the donnybrook!
I've seen a couple of on-set photos that support that: Taskmaster in something quite close to the outfit shown here, minus cape.
As for today's cover, I think Cary called it right -- though I also think that most of the story would be a cat-and-mouse between the two villains.
I also agree with his suggestion. The thought of Bane and Venom has the same resonance as Darth Vader and Darkseid.
It's beyond me how you manage to hold the price down to 60 cents on these.
To be fair, the Anniversary Issues are $1.00
That is the $64 question.
Umm, Anonymous, not meaning to nit- pik but the ceratocephalus you mentioned is an annual herb. Keratocephalus is "horned headed." No biggie but just had to throw my 2 cents in.
@Phylo97: I was using the prefix in the sense of "ceratosaurus" (which is stilled spelled with a c, btw). Just my three cents.
LOL! You tell him, Anon. ;-)
