Metamorpho Vs. Wolverine

So, Marvel wants to give the X-Men a rest for a while before introducing them into the MCU,  I'm sure they are also eager to use Wolverine, one of their most popular characters.  The solution to me is simple.  Introduce Logan and the concept of mutants in an Alpha Flight movie!  He started out on that team anyway, right?  Then they could move on to a Wolverine / Hulk fight, another key moment from the beginning of his comics career.  That's what I'd do, anyway!

Who knows, Ross? They might even do a remake of his initial capture by, and escape from the Weapon X Project. Thereby enabling Marvel Films to depict the subsequent attempt to recapture under the title...

LOGAN'S RUN! ;-)

More like Weapon X vs Task Force X at X marks the spot

What If Elseworlds had Logan vs LSH Chemical Lad or more importantly
Logan vs Matter Eater Lad? There'd be a bone to pick then.

...And they shall rise like a Phoenix
What's that? Don't give X-Men the bird? Wouldn't think of it.

Just as a sort of semi-educated guess, I think Marvel Studios will likely use WandaVision as an initial gateway, and then start introducing X-Men characters across other films in Phase 5: Ororo in Black Panther 2, Rogue in Captain Marvel 2, Kitty with Ant-Man 3, that sort of thing -- and of course that would include Weapon X/Wolverine with an Alpha Flight film. Then, when the time comes to bring in the actual X-Men, it'll be the actual five OG X-Men: Cyclops, Marvel Girl, Beast, Angel, and Iceman.

How about Old Man Wolverine versus Zombie Sandmen under Francis Seven? You could call it... "Logan Runs Again!"

Hey, that's a the Alpha Flight movie with Wolverine and a Hulk battle is a great idea! It's such a wonderful idea that I already suggested it here just last week:

I think the story behind the cover is a bad break up between Obsidian and Northstar.

Marvel should go with an Alpha Flight movie first to introduce the mutants. It would be something different and they could still use Wolverine. Maybe they could do a Wolverine vs Hulk battle.

An Alpha Flight movie would ROCK. And I agree with the Wolverine/Hulk fight, plus Sasquatch and the Hulk could slug it out too!

Alpha Flight makes sense. Have Banner seek out Department H for a cure for his injuries. The same people behind Weapon X then overload him with gamma radiation turning him savage.

I would suggest they make most of Alpha Flight be mutants. I think some of them had other origins tied to myths but it would streamline it to say they are mutants or products of the people behind Weapon X (Guardian was Weapon Alpha).

It also makes sense for Alpha Flight to try to fill the void left from The Avengers. Since they are tied to the Canadian government you can get around the accords.

Earlier today (though some time after I posted the above) I read about some hints that have been dropped that Deadpool 3 will be an MCU Phase 5 movie. How that will work out in light of the first two films remains a mystery, though, at least to me (I imagine Ryan Reynolds has a few ideas).

On a related note, I think it'd be fun to have a cover with the most popular fan-generated inter-company "ship" out there: HarleyPool!

And on a completely unrelated note, what if we had a team-up of Ben Hargreeves (from The Umbrella Academy), Kal Varrik (from Dark Matter), Shelly Godfrey (from the Battlestar Galactica reboot), and the unnamed title character in The Prisoner -- all of whom are known as Number Six. (Well, Varrik was just "Six," but it still works.) I don't know if there's any way to also include the characters played by Jenna von Oÿ on Blossom or Teresa Palmer in the movie I Am Number Four, or even whether those two would be deemed suitable (especially the first), but I think it'd be worth exploring.

If done as a group, you wouldn't even need to put up their individual names; just show them together under the title "SIX" (plus whatever other text you think would help introduce them).

You really need six of them and then their team could be called 'Six-Squared'...

@SWT: don't hate the character. Just his over-frequent use.

I wish that was my only problem with Logan. He's not my kind of character to begin with, yet everybody tells me he the awesomest ever. He interfers with other peoples' relationship (Ultimate Wolverine left a man to die so he could take his girl), he's this angry brooding guy and yet any evolution to being half-way decent is immediately undone (they even made a character who exists only to do that) because the NEXT writer wants to write the angry brooding psycho jerk version. I have just have no interest in the character but the only time you get away from him was when he died. Of course he came back...with a new power! Basically my problem with Wolverine is everybody that works on the character. :)

Also sorry if that showed to you in an email. GMail made me think the reply would show up here.
