Machine Man and The Original Robotman
I always thought it was cool that Machine Man was a spin-off character from Marvel's 2001 series. I was a huge fan of Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey, and I loved the idea that it could be connected to the Marvel heroes that I read about. I have been a fan of X-51 ever since.

Wasn't X-51 one of the characters featured in Earth-X?
@AirDave: "By George, I think you've got it!"
X51/ Machine Man featured in STF #2001; brilliantly subtle .
I am constantly amazed by Kirby's use of varying-width squiggles to give figures shape & form!
I always felt that the original Robotman was an underrated character.
I couldn't agree with Sonofjack more.
P.S.---I am neither one of these robots.
I read Kirby's Machine Man for the first time this summer, and it was surprisingly good. More meat to it than the covers (and the jokey villain name Ten-For) led me to expect...
