Mars Attacks Kolchak: The Night Stalker
Tim Burton's Mars Attacks! movie seems to hold up pretty well to me when viewed today. The large cast looked like they had a blast making it, and the effects still work due to the B-Movie vibe. I am a little surprised we never saw any signs of a sequel. I don't remember it being a box office dud, bat maybe it just didn't make enough profit to warrant a follow up.

Sadly, it was a pretty big disappointment for the studio:

mars attacks killraven also spawn and hellstrom would be cool
Can see just how this one is going to go down: The Martian is alone. This means he's a recon scout. Obviously, Kolchak has stumbled on his arrival and disintegration of some poor local. He pursues Kolchak but loses track in a darkened drainage tunnel (Ala The Fugitive) In desperation, Kolchak gets the drop on the Martian and cracks the protective helmet by violently smashing his camera on it.
Martian dies. Kolchak's proof is destroyed. The remains are washed out by a rainstorm, never to be found except the Martian's Raygun washes up to be found by an unidentified civilian.
Marc, that plot is just plain brilliant.
Ross, so is this cover.
"Mars Attacks" crossovers on this page would have to be non-superheroic - "Mars Attacks the Image Universe" has already been published (and is part of their canon, too).
In addition, the good folks at IDW Publishing have put out ...
"Mars Attacks Judge Dredd"
"Mars Attacks KISS"
"Mars Attacks Real Ghostbusters"
"Mars Attacks the Transformers"
"Mars Attacks Popeye"
"Mars Attacks Zombies vs Robots"
"Mars Attacks Classics Obliterated" (A crossover with Classic Illustrated Comics)
To be hionest ... there's not a lot Mars hasn't attacked. Everybody just seems to love the old ultraviolence.
Now, THIS I would love to see made into a feature-length movie! Perhaps with Tommy Lee Jones in the title role. It would be a hoot just listening to the Martians say Carl's last name!
"Kolchak-ak-ak-ak-ak-ak!"
Please insert all ensuing Billy Joel jokes, here.
P.S.---as this month marks the 55th anniversary of Dr. Arthur Light's debut in the original JLA #12, is there any chance of having the not-so-good doctor go up against his near-namesake (the in-story inventor of Capcom's Mega Man)?
On the old Mickey Mouse Club show they used to have "Anything Can Happen Day". That's one of the things I love most about this website. When a character from a pair of TV movies and series can encounter an alien from an old set of trading cards, I'd call that almost the definition of "Anything Can Happen Day"!
Great melding of two VERY different and yet in-a-perfect-world-they-already-would-have-met properties. Ross.
Thanks, Sonofjack! Anything can happen is what the blog is all about!
I know it's not your turf Ross,(and pie in the sky as well) but I'm still holding out for a "Kolchak" meets "A Christmas Story" movie:
The Parkers' strange, distant cousin Carl comes to spend the Holidays with the clan, and there's more than a family argument breaking out when something emerges from that shattered high heeled leg-lamp!
"Ralphie! Get your gun!"
Who didn't love Darren McGavin as Carl Kolchak !
Unfortunately this classic show was canceled after one season but became the inspiration for Fox Milder and The X Files !

We've already been given a Martian Manhunter/'Mars Attacks' crossover here.
Well, then, how about J'onn J'onzz meets Ray Walston as Xydgeous 12.5 (aka "Martin O'Hara")? Ross could call it...
MY FAVORITE MARTIAN MANHUNTER
Hr'rmmm...
How about Kolchak meets Kojak?
^_^
@Simreeve: Good one!!!
Perhaps with Carl out to save Theo, who's become the mentally enslaved thrall of...The Hell Toupe'.*
*An old episode of Steven Spielberg's "Amazing Stories."
