Tomar-Re and The Beast

I am surprised that Marvel has never paired up The Beast and Tigra in an adventure.  They are both card carrying Avengers who are at peace with the furry forms they have been transformed into.  It seems like they would have a lot in common.  Not that you need to have much in common for an exciting tale.. Tomar-Re is about a different character thank Hank McCoy as you can ask for, but I'd still love to see them join forces.

I remember the days of Marvel's Super Villain Team-Up. I think that Sinestro and Mageto would have made a great story regardless of the heroes challenging them, although I like this paring.

I wish DC and Marvel would consider doing another mini series of some sort. I am not sure of the exact plot just yet. However, I imagine a story with some of the more brilliant (yet villainous) minds of both universes. Magneto, Sinestro, Luthor, Dr. Doom, Ra's al Ghul, Dr. Octopus, just to name a few. Obviously, this gives rise to a team up of Green Lantern, Superman, Batman, Spiderman, and possibly someone out of the X-Men and/or the Fantastic Four. But we could see some of the other heroes that are just as easily matched such as Green Arrow and Daredevil. This story is not about the heroes, per se. This one profiles the villains working together for their conquest, only to have their own egos be the main downfall. We have seen something like this to a lesser degree, but I am talking about making it the main plot

Magneto vs a Green lantern? I can see that. Power and skill combined would make it a challenge.

Dr Henry McCoy aka The Beast vs Sinestro? I don't see it. Beast is a formidable opponent, but only on the human scale. Sinestro is a Ring-Slinger and would smear poor Beastie on the walls.

But I do miss the old-style super-villain team-ups.

Good casting, Ross. What with his costume's color scheme and his own hatred for normal humans, Magneto would actually make a _perfect_ Red Lantern! Plus, even though he predates Magneto, Dr. Polaris has always felt like an inferior knock-off to me.

So, for that reason alone, I can plausibly see Tomar-Re (or any other GL of Hal Jordan's generation) initially under-estimating Magneto.

Agreed that Marvel needs to bring back the Villain Team Up. They are bringing back the 2 in one, so fingers crossed that everything old will be new again.

As to this cover, chalk up an easy win for the bad guys!

WHOA! Tomar and Hank look even more outmatched than the Thing against Shazzy! Makes wonder how Spidey would do against Miracleman?

I think I recognize Tomar-Re's pose from "The Greatest Green Lantern of Them All" (a Fabulous World of Krypton story), and Sinestro's from one of the DC Calendars... 1978?

I'm glad that you don't use the New 52 designs for the DC characters. For some reason they thought all the characters needed high collars, chin pieces, armor, and unnecessary lines all over their costumes. I refuse to buy any merchandise with new 52 Superman because he looks nothing like classic Superman. The character was perfect as he was complete with trunks. The Wonder Woman design used in the recent animated movies is even worse. And worse than that is the costume of The Flash in the Justice League movie. The Flash needs a streamlined suit not armor. Also, Barry is a CSI so he should know to wear gloves.

but if Marvel were only to get one place in the Red Lantern Corps, then I think it would have to be a case of:
"Frank Castle, you are possessed of great rage. Welcome to the Red Lantern Corps."

@ Simreeve: agreed! And the moment he was a Red Lantern, he'd probably make Magneto his very first target for "punishment."

I suppose Magento would make a good Red Lantern or a good candidate for Sinestro's Corps.
