Doctor Fate and Scarlet Witch

I've seen from previews that Doctor Fate is showing up in the latest Blue Beetle series.  This appears to be a more classic version of the character, as opposed to the helmet and hoodie wearing incarnation that starred in the recent New 52 series.  Is it Kent Nelson back in the role or yet another new host?  Will he have a role in returning the original JSA to modern day adventures?  I'm certainly intrigued.

I love this cover! It takes me back to that JLA/Avengers team-up DC and Marvel finally co-published in the early 2000's. With Wanda slowly going crazy from the DCU's chaos-magic. I remember Marvel tried to ret-con both that term and that vulnerability, almost immediately afterward. But, I'm glad they didn't succeed. It would've negated the whole classic back story of her and Pietro having been born on Mt. Wundagore! Thereby explaining her mutant power as partially based on Chthonic magic...which is most undeniably chaotic.

Took you long enough to get to this one.

Doctor Fate in Blue Beetle? Kind of an odd place to put him...

Yeah, I was surprised I hadn't done this match up before.

Great cover, as always. I am always amazed how you manage to do a new one every day.

With regard to Dr. Fate... it's unclear. Kent Nelson did return as Fate and the end of the New 52 run, but it seems that series might no longer be in continuity.

Kent was supposed to be Dr. Fate in Rebirth but it looks like they might be delaying that as part of a bigger story of bringing back the original HAD who are lost in time. Jay Garrick's helmet was seen in a recent issue of the Flash, for example.

Right now it appears that the Dr. Fate seen in Blue Beetle is actually a hostess form of Nabu controlling the helmet directly.

The connection between Dr. Fate and Blue Beetle is that they both use magical Ancient Egyptian artifacts. The origin story for the Blue Beetle's scarab has been retconned a couple of times, but these days it looks like they're going back to it being magic.

I'd buy this book !

Where do I leave my 60¢ ?

Random pairing idea that I don't think you've done:
Detective Chimp vs. Hit-Monkey!

Dashoo (and Ross), I had exactly the same thought, particularly as I first came across the Scarlet Witch character in the cross-over which Cary mentioned.

Have you considered teaming up Dr. Fate with Maxwell Smart, fighting Chaos and KAOS?

Another idea, unrelated to this cover, but possibly another long lost relative link: Sabrina the Teenage Witch and Power Girl.

But, please, please, PLEASE make it the Filmation version of Sabrina! That way, you could have her and Power Girl simultaneously asking "Who does your hair?"

Cary, if that is the version with hair like PG, that's what I was thinking of.

YES! There _is_ a God. :-)
