No company will leave continuity alone anymore. Everyone including movie writers have "better ideas".
About the only thing the various later authors have agreed on is the canonicity of the Tower Comics stories.
That ship bears a striking resemblance to a classic UFO model kit.
Wally Wood did ink Gil Kane's pencils for one issue in Green Lantern #69. The story wasn't all that great, but the art was fantastic.
You're to be congratulated, Ross. The closest that GL and the Agents of T.H.U.N.D.E.R. ever came to meeting before this was in the pages of "Thunderbunny" published (at that time) by Warp Graphics' Apple Comics imprint!*
*TB met the agents in #11, which was six issues after meeting some DC analogs at the Rutland, VT, Halloween Parade.
The phrase "Moons of Mogo" made me think of the phrase "Moons of Meepzor (Meebzor?)" from The Coneheads, of classic Saturday Night Live fame.
I don't know if any Coneheads comics exist, but if they do, how about Scully & Mulder from The X-Files discover the existence of the Coneheads? ^_^
