Code: Red

Red headed males in comics have had a tough time, often being killed off or reintroduced as a non-redhead.  Aside from Daredevil, it seems like no one is safe!  Fortunately Red haired women seem to have fared a bit better, and there were plenty to choose from for this team.

Brilliant!! Can't wait for the expansion team Code: Red International! Featuring Mera, Hawkwoman, Jean Grey, Batwoman, Artemis, Maxima, Pepper Potts, and time-displaced Cinnamon.

Also Looker from the original run of the Outsiders and the female Firebrand.

Nice team. If anything, I would have swapped out either Siren or Medusa (one of them would be Marvel's representative) and add in Scarlett from GI Joe and Electrocute from Malibu's Strangers.

I'm sorry. I should have looked closer above the title.

Oh well.. great job with the team-up idea. Keep up the good work.

You forgot Teen Titan Lilith, dude! :-(

It would appear you can now add superhero sidekicks to that list of mistreated male redheads. As Jimmy Olsen is now a bald African-American...

....with his red hair going to the created-for-TV foster sister of Kara "Supergirl" Danvers!

Hi haven't checked in a while, and lo and behold a post with two of my favorite topics, superheroes and red-headed women! Seems to have been many in comics history, maybe even disproportionate to real life!
I agree with and want to add some to what The Irredeemable Shag said in his post...
"Brilliant!! Can't wait for the expansion team Code: Red International! Featuring Mera, Hawkwoman, Jean Grey, Batwoman, Artemis, Maxima, Pepper Potts, and time-displaced Cinnamon." Pretty much nailed all of mine (including Artemis, who I'd sort of forgotten about) But the glaring omission is Hellcat! Others include Firestar, Frankie Raye/Nova, and Venus from Agents of Atlas. Do Starfire and Tigra count? :)
In the time displaced category,he I would add Firebrand, the Silver Age Hawkgirl, and the female action hero, flame haired icon, Red Sonja! Also the female Wildcat and Looker from the 80s and .
Supporting cast - Mary Jane Watson, Colleen Wing, Lana Lang, Cheryl Blossom, & Josie
Villainesses - Poison Ivy, Typhoid Mary, Insect Queen, and Spider-Girl from LSV - not too many gingers in the future?

As for "losing the ginger" ala Lana Lang in Smallville in adaptations, the one I found most curious is the castings of blonde Kirstin Dunst as redhead Mary Jane Watson and ginger Emma Stone as platinum blonde Gwen Stacy in the Spider-Man films. Both actresses looked incredible in their roles however, so no harm done!

With so may red-headed, comics-related women being listed, how is it no one mentioned the Black Widow? This is a great cover, but as a Sherlock Holmes fan I would have preferred "The Red-Headed League".

First, you have to understand that I'm a sucker for a sexy red-head. So much so that I married a red-head. Knowing that, I've been thinking more about your super-fun CODE: RED concept. It seemed to get a lot of buzz on social media. Might be worth a follow-up. So I've compiled all the characters mentioned above and across various social media platforms. Lots of possibilities here if you want to follow up:

Firehawk in her original costume

Venus from Agents of Atlas
