Buffy The Vampire Slayer and The Walking Dead

I am looking forward to the new season of The Walking Dead hitting the airwaves in a few weeks.  I have been watching the prequel series Fear the Walking Dead, And while it has a talented cast, I do not find it nearly as exciting as the main show.  The idea of showing how the zombie outbreak began is an intriguing one, but by concentrating on such a small group of characters, the series lacks the kind of scale which  that story really demands.

Awww, yeah...vampires and zombies...

This October, I think I will dive head-first into binge-watching Buffy and The Walking Dead on Netflix. I enjoyed the first trade collection of Kirkman's epic. Saw the Buffy movie, never got into the television series...

There some significant differences between the show and the comics, but the big events are pretty much the same. Reading the comics has spoiled some key moments in the show for me. Things that would've had a much bigger impact of I hadn't known about them. Often the TV show uses a different character in a situation than the comic does. Indeed the show caught up to where of read, I stopped reading and will come back to the comics after the show moves on.

I'd love to see Buffy, the Sarah Michelle Gellar version, in the Walking Dead world. She and Michionne would make a killer team. Pun definitely intended.

I have to beg to differ, Ross. By showing how the initial outbreak affected different groups of people, in scattered locations, gives a greater sense of impact. As in, we get to see that the problem wasn't restricted to just Atlanta, Georgia.

I kind of feel the same about "Fear", but after some reflection I realized it was because we don't have the same amount of time invested in the characters. With time, the show should be just as good as "The Walking Dead."

Did you know these two share a house with Hermonie, Katniss and Bella? Check out BAMF girls on Youtube. Pretty funny.

@Ed and Bob: and it did! Until they killed off Alicia's mom, that is.
