Batman and Spider-Man in "Larceny At Ladies' Night!"

I remember being excited at the prospect of a live action Spider-Man back in the 70's, but when I finally saw the Nicholas Hammond-starring TV-movies I was a bit underwhelmed.  The suit was OK even with the clunky web-shooter, and it was cool to see Peter Parker interacting with J. Jonah Jameson, but it still didn't feel very much like the Spidey I knew from the comics.  The lack of any super-villains hurt it for me and the many re-used shots made the shows feel cheap even for the standards of the day to me.  Why they never crossed him over with The Hulk I will never know.

Batman and Spider-Man have a bit of history on STF: The Lost Issues...

Spidey and JJJ joined forces against Batman in Issue #937...
They were joined by some Amazing Friends in back in October 2011...
The shared a Golden Age adventure in September 2011...
Spidey wore his black outfit for their  July 2010 meeting...
And here is where they first crossed paths.

Awesome combination! I wish I still had my Spider-Man/Captain America photo cover comic!

C'mon, The Amazing Spider-Man live action series in the '70's was absotively cringe-worthy. But then, this was just as Star Wars was breaking and before Superman: The Movie. The special effects we know today and take for granted hadn't been invented yet.

Still, shows like Spider-Man, Batman, The Man From Atlantis and even The Six Million Dollar Man are pretty cool to watch just to see how different the world was back when...

They actually did plan to make a crossover between Spider-Man and the Hulk (with Hammond donning the Black Suit), but it never came to fruition because Lou Ferrigno was in Italy filming Hercules movies at the time.

Need to edit that cover caption: "...IS MUST..."

AussieDragon-the black suit hadn't been introduced yet. It was introduced as part of the Secret Wars in 1984. This might be an internet rumour...

Well, I think tomorrow's cover should have these two being rescued...by the Hardy Boys' Aunt Gertrude. LOL!

I've heard the Nic Hammond Spidey on Hulk rumor as well, though from what I heard it had been planned around the time of the Thor and Daredevil movies (which could have allowed the black costume part of the rumor)

DonBerner - it would have been in 84, that's when Ferrigno was in Italy. It was going to be a special which brought back both characters after both series had ended.

I was tinkering with one of those suggestions the other day, so you just may see it eventually...

Main reason we didn't get a cross-over: AS-M was produced by an independent producer without a track record, while HULK was being done by Universal TV, which didn't want to deal with a small shop back in the 1970s. This was before Marvel had a licensed media strategy, let alone a studio...

Awesome cover Ross.
Funny to think about back then, despite the TV version of the Hulk being a success, Marvel's Live Adaptations through the 90s were pretty much all awful. Spider-Man 77 may have actually been the best of the rest!

@ Mike Shirley:

I wasn't too crazy about the Rex Smith version of Daredevil in "Trial of the Hulk." Oh, he did a convincing enough job as Matt Murdock! But, that black costume made him look more like the Shroud, Minus the cape!

I can just see them having been abducted by Talula Bankhead's version of the Black Widow.
