Doctor Who Vs. Doctor Doom

Plot details of the upcoming Fantastic Four reboot have been released, describing Doctor Doom as a disgruntled computer programmer.  Why is it so hard to get this character correctly portrayed on the big screen?  A megalomaniacal dictator who deals in sorcery and super science is what comic fans want to see, but we seem to keep getting these watered down versions.  At least Roger Corman tried to get it right!

Hasn't Doom always been ahead of his time as a megalomaniacal dictator? Maybe he seems too close to actual megalomaniacal dictators...We seem to have no shortage of them these days...

I think Doom may have been an inspiration for Darth Vader. That would certainly be a better approach than what they've been doing.

Love it! Wish it was a comic for real!

The Dr. Doom played by Julian McMahon(opposite Ioan Gryffud, Michael Chiklis, Jessica Alba, and the then-future Capt. America) was patterned after the version in Marvel's "Ultimates" imprint. So a little departure from the Silver Age original was to be expected.

That being said: I'd like to see Magnus the Robot Fighter go up against the Cybermen from the original DR. WHO series!

I remember suggesting this idea to you last year. Have to say, it was worth the wait! Kudos!
