Justice Society of America and The Invaders in "Executive Action!"

There was something very cool about discovering Marvel and DC's golden age characters through the reprints that were presented as back-up stories in the comics of my youth.  I was intrigued that they were familiar yet different from the heroes I knew and I thought that it was amazing that there was a whole generation of adventures that I was unaware of.

This cover leads into tomorrow's, so stay tuned!

I followed Roy Thomas from The Invaders at Marvel to DC's All-Star Squadron, and later Infinity Inc. It was awesomeness.

Reading Golden Age adventures in places like Fantasy Masterpieces and in the back of sundry DC books was as close to finding hidden treasure as I've ever come. I yearned for more stories about these vivid characters and finally we would get them. But once upon a time they were rare and of great great price.

I appreciate the work, but stickler for detail that I am, I can't help but note that Black Marvel and the Angel were never members of the Invaders (or All Winners Squad either, their appearances in that title predating the formation of the group). All I'm saying is that if you're going to use the Invaders logo, a better choice of cover image to swipe from ALL WINNERS COMICS would have been one that included the Whizzer and the Destroyer, since they were also members of the Invaders (the latter at least occasionally).

Also, "All-Winners Squadron" sounds just too close to "All-Winners Squad". Maybe "All Star Winners Squadron" would have split the balance between the names of the two groups best.

Here's to more Golden Age stuff though.

Ah but Dennis - This is the Earth-STF Invaders, so it all makes sense.

Really enjoy Golden Age images as finding matching styles is such a challenge. This one is a dream crossover; love it!
